Infinity
Anmol Oct 2015
It is not that I’m afraid
of losing you
It is not that I do not
believe I won’t move on
But rather I can’t breathe without
the soft touches of your fingertips
across my bare skin
And the warmth of your body
laying next to mine
as you carefully breathe
in your deepest sleep
and the way you smile
when you slowly peek open
those golden eyes
groggy from exhaustion
In those moments
I forget that we fight
I forget that a single word
besides love has fallen from our mouths.
I forget that we go around in circles
In this small infinity of ours
I forget every tear that’s fallen from my cheeks,
every rekindle of “i miss you’s”
I forget everything
that has ever been wrong
and all i know
is the way we fit
like two puzzle pieces
in a jigsaw that doesn’t make sense
And in our own little ways,
we are perfectly dysfunctional.
