Do we sleep to lullabies;
Do we wake?
Certain you’d treat me tender;
Certain you’d give me reason to break.
Shall we come face to face;
Shall we stay safe?
In broken silence, we speak our minds;
Have we made a mistake?
We hope it won’t tear us apart;
But we still dare.
The truth so stark, it could salvage our broken parts;
Or singe our souls against its rays.
Surely you won’t ***** me;
Surely it’s my mind’s trickery.
This infinite circle of doubt;
How do I get out!
How did this poem make you feel?
