When I was four I refracted,
I split several dazzling lights.
All that was near me in glow,
Even Dead things entombed in my bright.

And when I was eight I reflected,
I entrapped all my world aft this brow.
I embodied my life as I saw it,
Life sped faster, then faster, to now.

And now in adulthood I'm fading,
Inner lights I hold dear bear great cost.
Every day they feel fainter, oh, Fainter.
Every day so more fearful of loss.

An elegy holds melody,
A blessing can be cursed.
The darkest cloud you'll ever see
Is top-side sunbeam-burnt.
