Everything Is Alright
Andre Nov 2014
This translucent body that lies on the floor.
That voluptuous death wish, invading your soul.
Those brown-stained bed sheets, bearing no return.
This dark lit rose that I lay upon her grave.
That last indigenous kiss forever trapped in Orca.
Those hazelnut-colored eyes, enmeshed in a loop of finite.
“Everything is alright,” you would whisper chilly into my ear.
This scrumptious funnel cake lies on the floor.
That wretched delight eating through the tile.
Those black insects, feast upon your sorrow.
This lark composes his song ever so gracefully.
That fast-paced beat drops ever so gracefully.
Those vibrant cheeks, blush never so gracefully.
At your funeral, I’d pay the token, “Everything Is Alright.”
Very old. From when I was first starting out.

One More
Andre Nov 2014
Puff in that fiberglass and
Let it course through your
Blood. It’s that feeling again.
Yeah, THAT feeling-the one
That makes you feel so invincible.
That bittersweet taste begins
To crawl its way into your lungs,
And you stop caring about what’s
Around you and start to feel
What’s in front of you.

Clear skies become cloudy,
Dirt lodges begin to crumble,
Diabetics start passing out,
Wasted kids  lie on the sidewalk,
And  all you can think about
Is  that small connection
That was ignited off of a
Very small spark that
Lit the kerosene on fire
And nearly morphed you
Into a corpse.

You don’t ever want the fire to
Go astray, but it’s better off
With the Fray. Every fiber of your
Being is bound to this feeling-
You’re addicted.
This want is now your need, and
The only thing you can do
Is let it course on through.
So, keep puffing that fiberglass
And don’t let the circulation stop.

Life on a 33
Andre Mar 2020
Spinning, tumbling, and falling.
Those are the three words
That have an Infinite meaning.

That red 33 is spinning, and
Boy does it spin. The melodious,
Innocent vibrations that tumble
Out right onto the walls love
To bounce. So innocent.
They don't know that they just
Fall on dead ears.

Drink in hand, spliff in the
Mouth: Why do these spin?
Not many will help you to
Your feet. They're too busy
With their own lives.
Too busy tumbling along the
Road.

The road that you walk
May be the one less traveled
By, but I'll tell you what.
At least I'm not falling.
I may hit a rock and fall,
But at least I'm not falling.
Not really.

Spin me out and watch what
Happens. I might tumble on
Down like some heavy drunk,
But I won't fall.

Pop in that next record.
I want to fall in love again.

I Remember
Andre Apr 2020
Do you remember feeling alive?
I do.

Early morning beach days.
Late night strolls after stuffing our faces.
Feeling the warm embrace of a loved one.
Seeing your friends and family on a daily basis.
All of it. All of it.

Do you remember getting up early on Saturdays
Just to watch your favorite shows?
Do you remember talking to your friends about your
Latest crush? Or theirs?

Sitting at your classroom desk, zoning out.
Playing your favorite game under your hoodie
So that the teacher won't see.
Talking about some band or group that you just discovered,
And how their music truly resonates with you.

Do you remember the first time that
You were able to venture out on your own?
The first time that you weren't really a kid anymore.
I do. It was great.

Taking random trips with your friends.
Going to this museum or that one interesting concert.
Trying this one alcoholic drink or that other foreign food.
Having next to no worries at all.
Renting a beach house for an entire week to make some
Great memories.

I remember. I remember it all.

Now, you don't go to sleep at 3am
After chatting with friends anymore.
Now, you don't go on random trips with
Your friends anymore.
Now, you're not who you were anymore.

You wake up.
You make your morning coffee.
You do your work.
You take every opportunity to have fun
Because you want to remember.
Please remember.
