My Butterfly Kisses
Amy Jan 2015
Cocooned safely in your arm chrysalis,
The perfection that is 'a butterfly kiss'.
Unconditional love expressed from within,
Delivered by eyelashes fluttered gently on skin.
Warmed wings now unfolding and visible to eye,
Infinite spectrum of colours, an explosion of dyes.                                                                             Ready for flight.
Love, future dreams and wishes
I promise you always, my butterfly kisses.

Coincidence of Two Minds
Amy Jan 2015
Coincidence of two minds,
The natural desire of humankind.
Life parallels, poetry, philosophy and serendipity in action.
Chance meetings, knowing looks, perhaps a chain reaction.
To look into another's eyes stirs feelings so intense,
A true reflection of my soul it seems in every sense.
The rebel within discards the well meant words of caution,
The risks versus positives all considered in proportion.
No expectations, need or greed.
Love, honesty and goodwill are my creed.
To live just once a life lived well is all my spirit wishes.
To share that gift and share my soul delivered with tip-toe kisses.
How wonderfully intoxicating and often rare to find,
the curious beginnings of the coincidence of two minds.

Inhale.
A moment of clarity long overdue.
Paused,
Eyes closed,
Thinking things through.
The past is the past.
We cannot undo.
No ill feelings,
No regrets,
Nor desire for review.
Exhale.
I am released from you

Inhale.
Were your actions meant to confuse?
Unkind words you impaled,
Unfair and untrue
No winners here.
Nor did we lose.
My chest rising again,
Remembering to breathe
Gasping at life before,
Now embracing with ease.
Pure lung filling oxygen, replacing toxic CO2
Negativity expelled.
Exhale.
I am released from you.

Inhale.
Courageous message from heart beats through.
I survived.
I am Strong.
Ready to love anew
This is what I wish for you too.
Life is a blessing, to live how you choose
Exhale.
I am released from you

Inhale.
Remembering moments and memories,
which are always in view,
For our creations, of which we are blessed,
'Thank you'
At least we're agreed on one point of view,
Together, the future holds no place for us two
So, now is the time to bid you Adieu
You are released from me,
Exhale.
I am released from you.

ADESSO
Amy Jan 2015
The temptation of 'Adesso' requests at the tip of my tongue,
for use only when the gaps in-between seem too long.
Distracted again, by the halves at the top and the bottom.
You have questioned my preference more than once, but not often.
To confirm, alone now with thoughts of our conversations drawing me wandering back.
I'm intrigued by you, your mind...to me, the ultimate aphrodisiac.

Thoughts of you leave me lust inebriated,
over two-drink- tipsy and intoxicated.
Longing for my next fix as an addict with no desire to be rehabilitated.

Looking through these green eyes of mine.
You leave me nowhere inside to hide.
'Mischievous' I am told, is my soul, This is true but to love and be loved is my foundation goal.

A soul, honest and kind, a life of monotony is not that which I strive.
This spirit of mine on fire and alive.

Complicated is how you described your soul,
the layers of which I am intrigued to unfold.
Clear and somehow familiar to me.
Not complicated but simple, I love what I see.

A soul perhaps needing T.L.C.
A brain I am told which reduces to Brie.
Clear AND complicated...both are right it seems.

I shall not dwell that despite the cautious words when together I have spoken,
with each written word now shared, so to increases my vulnerability of being broken.

Experiencing tenderness so sincere and real.
Unfamiliar to me, an exquisite ideal.

Whether each moment together is coincidental or predetermined,
Led by my heart, body and soul is the only way to be certain.

Adesso bello, now close your eyes.
Succumb to thoughts of my fingertips tracing your thighs.
Pull me in close again tight,
safe in your arms for the rest of the night.

The coincidence of bodies, rare like the coincidence of minds.
Love and lust...the purest natural desires of human kind.

Adesso, such a powerful word on the tip of my tongue,
for use only when the gaps in-between seem too long.

This is more than an “I love you”, for love alone is not enough.
For when uneasiness returns to us,
For the times it seems too tough.

These are my promises to you,
My soul written down in text.
For always,
Ti amo bellissimo,
Whatever happens next.

This is more than an “I love you, for love alone is not enough.
“I’m done”, frustration uttered in tense moments,
Yet on Us, I won’t give up.

Stop. A pause is needed,
To tame my thoughts and calm my mind,
Ferocious storm clouds had begun to circle,
The complexities of love and humankind.

This is more than an “I love you”, for love alone is not enough.
As we take uneasy steps upon new ground,
At times, it may be rough.

‘New Ground’, of which we often speak.
This love found us, we did not seek.
A precious new life within me now
To keep safe and to nurture,
To love unconditionally,
This is my solemn vow.

This is more than an “I love you”, for love alone is not enough.
Gravitational forces when wild at play,
Are strong and pull too much.
Surging with each lunar pull,
Two minds once clear, now worry full.
Thoughts tidal wave within our seas,
Arise and drag you far from reach.

The language of my actions may speak with a foreign tongue,
Your mind, your being and your smile.
Physically,
Mentally,
Spiritually and emotionally,
With you, I feel is where I belong.

This is more than an “I love you”, for love alone is not enough.
I ‘m sorry for my mistakes,
I hope we can discuss.
The times we upset each other, not knowing the reasons why,
The promise for the future,
I hope we’ll both continue to try.

A human with a lioness’ heart,
For the things you’ve done,
and the things I have done to you,
Forgiveness is a start.
This lioness can be proud,
I have flaws and imperfections like the rest,
I knew that then,
I know that now.

The long-day trivialities,
The tired and hungry grumps.
Forgotten and forgiven,
When your hands upon our precious bump.

This is more than an “I love you”, for love alone is not enough.
If love was all we needed,
Relationships wouldn’t fall apart through mistrust.
It’s easy to love another, but if we’re going to truly last,
It’s important to move forward and leave behind the past.

I promise my commitment,
To prioritise you in my life,
Because you exist regardless of your state of being,
To me, you are worth the sacrifice.

When you are sick or weak I’ll hold you and be your strength
I’ll care for you through thick and thin,
Even if your decision is that I respect you wishes,
I’ll still do this is from arms-length.

This is more than an “I love you”, for love alone is not enough.
If uneasiness returns again,
For the times it seems too tough
These are my promises to you,
My soul and love written down in text,
For always,
Ti amo bellissimo,
Whatever happens next.

I give more than just my words to you, written for you to keep,
I give my heart, my soul and my love to you,
Please absorb them within you deep.
I hope to give much more to you, as we learn along the way
You are loved bellissimo,
The good and the imperfections,
Come what may.

This is more than an “I love you”, for love alone is not enough.
I hope too, for you bellissimo,
That I am all you want.
I hope I am enough.

Three toasts
Amy Feb 2015
A toast that marked an ending,
A toast to bring fresh starts,
A toast to a happiness filled future,
With a brave and independent heart.
Three toasts tipsy,
At the top of those stairs,
In that moment,
you caught me unawares.

A chance encounter is all it took,
Your smile, your eyes.
Your knowing look.
Not quite sure at what we'd found
We took trepid steps upon new ground.

I didn't mean to fall in love,
It was the last thing I was thinking of.
But here in love I find myself,
No desire for materials or wealth.

Future daydream ideology,
Reigned back with an apology.
A sensible and often pragmatic mind,
I hope the future treats us kind.
Together, a future in love,
I hope that we can bind.

'If we are still talking'
Amy Feb 2015
'If we are still talking',
Its just something that we say,
Not wanting to presume each others heart is here to stay.

A comfortable silence,
Lying side by side in tender loves embrace.
Wrapped tightly in your arms,
This is my happy place.

My head upon your chest,
Your heart a lullaby like Brahms.
Secure with your love,
Protecting me from harm.

If we are still talking,
For just five minutes more,
My hope is that when you read my words,
With my love,
You will feel sure.

If we are still talking,
when the midnight hour has struck,
I promise you my smile,
Even though at times,
we may be down on luck.

If we are still talking,
In the months from now,
When you have your 'thinking face',
perhaps a furrowed brow.
For the moments we may disagree,
I hope no petty rows.

I promise to be patient,
And will try to understand,
I promise to be honest with my thoughts,
To stay true and hold your hand.

For times when we're both tired
For times you may feel unease,
I hope with love and gentle humour,
The uneasiness will appease.

My hope is that when you read my words again a second time,
May your eyes deliver them to your heart,
May they secure your soul with mine.

If we are still talking,
In the future, I see with you
I hope you'll share your hopes with me,
With me a future,
Is what I hope you wish for too.

I'm certain we'll still be talking,
Often without the need for words.
Softly our souls are whispering,
Only by one another's,
Can be heard.

If we are still talking',
Its just something that we say,
Not wanting to presume each others heart is here to stay.

Bellissimo, Ti amo,
One moment at a time lets take each day,
Perfection of the here and now,
If we are still talking,
Come what may.

The Dreams Which Wake Me
Amy Jan 2015
The dreams which wake me whilst all around me sleep,
a sudden jolt from slumber by the thoughts within me deep.
Memories of times gone by, the laughter and the tears,
Unlocked and unforgiving, now playback all the years.
Past, present and the future all thrown into the mix,
Now stirred by angered words unspoken or the lovers passionate kiss.

The dreams which wake me whilst all around me sleep,
Experiences shared which made us smile or weep.
The beginning and ending of lives, celebrations and sorrow,
Our snapshot family photographs now precious to tomorrow.

The dreams which wake me, whilst all around me sleep,
tell me 'check the children', slumbering, whilst watching Angels keep.
Safe and resting peacefully, not a sound they squeak, yet still the dreams they urge me, 'take a reassuring peek'.

The dreams which wake me whilst all around me sleep,
craving for another's arms to wrap tight my sobbing heap.
These dreams tell nonsense stories, vivid, frightening and incomplete,
But, these dreams do not know me, that I am strong,
this one they will not beat.

You do not know me,
You do not know me.
All that I am, is not all that you see.

All that you see, is not all that is me
You do not know me,
You do not know me.
