Change
Amy Tyler Oct 2014
Change is always different
It happens all the time
But is it real
Nobody seems to know
I think it is
It makes a lot of sense
You can change and change back
You can fix past mistakes
Yes some wounds may never heal
And sometimes things don't go right
Sometimes the best you can do is apologize
Sometimes that's not accepted
But when it is
When you get another chance
Cherish it
No matter who's at fault
Be grateful and kind
Never make the same mistake twice
Because you might not be forgiven again
So even if you think you'll fail
Even if you might not be forgiven
Always try to change
And always for the better
For the guy who changed and changed back, I love you

Stay
Amy Tyler Sep 2014
I'm not trying to say how much I need your love
Not trying to bring back a relationship now gone
Simply asking for a chance as your friend
That's all I want from now on

Yes the love is there
Yes it may always be
A relationship could be considered
But know that you will always have a friend in me

But you don't listen
You assume the worst
See a badness in me that isn't there
That's what really hurts

Yet I stay loyal
I stay as a friend to you
You're not here to see it
But everyone knows it's true

It will always be this way
I will always keep a hope
That my friend will come back some day
Even if you don't

I know you'll never see this
That this poem is in vain
But maybe someone will read it
And help to heal the pain

The scars will never truly fade
The memories will plague me to the grave
Of what was and could have been
The life we could have made

I know this is stupid
That I should let you go
But I can't, simply can't
I just wanted you to know

I'm sorry for everything
Every little wrong
Every moment that brought you pain
Even if it's not my fault

I'll take the blame
I'll take it all
Every drop of pain
Because I'll do anything for you

Ignore my feelings
Toss me aside
Yell until your throat goes dry
I'll stay through it all

Because you mean too much
You're too important
You were always there for me
I can never leave

So do you you want
Say what you want to say
But know no matter what
I will always stay
Yeah again, not the greatest, but I lost someone special. I don't know what he's doing now or how to get in touch with him. Everyone says I'm stupid for hoping he'll ever talk to me again but I can't help it. I made a promise that I'd always be there for him, and he means so much to me. I still can't let go I guess.

Cage
Amy Tyler Sep 2014
If you love something set it free
Be selfless and let it go
If it comes back it's meant to be
If it comes back you'll know

If it stays gone it's happy
If it never returns it's free
Be glad for it
That it can find where it belongs

But what about what's left behind?
The soul of the one who lost
What is to become of them?
Losing what they love most

It's not a relief
The pain won't vanish
You've condemned yourself to a cage
Stuck behind bars that may never break

So if you love something set it free
But be wary of what you love
Because you may soon come to see
What you lost will never come back
For the one I let myself finally love, I hope you come back. I know you'll never read this though

He Left
Amy Tyler Sep 2014
I used to be nobody
I used to be ignored
Years and years of sad
Sitting and watching life stumble by
Then he came along
Everything was right
He cared
He listened
Then he left
Why I'll never know
But I'll always hold the blame
They say it'll fade
They say I'll move on
But they don't understand
Don't understand his friendship to me
I pushed him away
My only true friend
Now the dark comes back with a vengeance
Pulling me under a final time
Not a good poem by any stretch I know, just trying to work through some emotions

Lost
Amy Tyler Sep 2014
There's a darkness
Coldness closing in
An empty pain
A lonely abyss
Wicked and dull
A flame of hope kept flickering
Trying to keep the dark at bay
With the dark comes memories
Once happy, now tinged with fear
It feds on the pain
With it the dark grows stronger
More hollow and empty
The attempt to keep that flame alive
Draining the last of the energy
Is hope enough to last?
