I no longer feel alone
For when my feet are submerged in the ocean
I feel the pulse of millions of beings
As I expel a breath from my lungs
I know it will be inhaled by someone like me
Someone who once felt alone
And has now shared life with a stranger.

A comfortable silence is an ocean
Eroding the pillars we call self.
I know you. You know me.

Uncomfortable and it is a tempest
Howling with doubt.
We drown,
Dragged by the ghosts that arise between you and I.

I have an artificial sun
No moon.
Bright days
Cancerous rays
And cold, dark nights.
Genuine light, a million memories away.
Time to let my sun set,
And let
The inconstant forces of nature change this burnt soul.

I jog through memory lane
With lactic acid welling in my chest
But euphoric nonetheless.
