A
Single light
In the sky at night
Shining and leading the way
Twinkling in the eyes of the future, and the past
Waiting on a change that might never happen or never last
Bringing people closer than ever before
To a new life and a new world
Measuring the distance
Of hard work and long days
The night is alive
With stars of love
Hope and
Faith

Don't say I haven't experienced life
Because of my age
As far as I'm concerned
I've been living every year of my life, every single day

Don't tell what to think
I have a mind of my own
I learn of these life lessons
Once I'm grown

Don't tell what I'm doing wrong
Just what I'm doing right
I'll make it through
The night

Don't leave me before I ask you to
I might need your help someday
To be honest, to true
Until then, we'll go our separate ways
Just know that I'll be okay.

A single glance
That's all it took
Fallen deeply
With just one look

Your blue eyes
More a turquoise sea
Or how I wish
You were with me

Your dark curly hair
And full lips
What I'd give
For just one kiss

And if we should ever meet again
I wouldn't hesitate
To walk up to you
And ask you on a date.

You pick up your suitcase
Looking for new places to go
Something stops you
A whisper
Come home, come home

You swallow your fear
And hope for the best
Knowing this is what you wanted
Come home, come home

Ignore the whisper
You tell yourself
But what if you shouldn't
Come home, come home

Grab a little keepsake and place it with a note
In the package ready to send
By your picture
Come home, come home

You can't go home
You just can't
You left for the better
Come home, come home

Think of your life now
The great people you know
But you think of all the great things you left
Come home, come home

Years pass
You take a right onto a pebble path
You've done it at last
*You're home, You're home

Our love
Pulled down the stars
Placed some in our eyes
Placed some in our hearts

Give me a reason to love you
From every little thing that you do
Whisper my name
Whisper your love
Give a reason to love
You

May it be the way you see things
May it be that way you wink
Only at me
Calling me your baby

Just one reason is good enough

Give me a reason to love you
From every little thing that you do
Whisper my name
Whisper your love
Give a reason to love
You

The way you leave me notes
The way you try to hide it when you gloat
When you wrap your arms around me
At night
Keeping me safe
Making everything alright

Just one reason is good enough

Give me a reason to love you
From every little thing that you do
Whisper my name
Whisper your love
Give a reason to love
You

The way you kiss me under the moonlight
The way you always miss me
And tell me I'm right
I don't think I'll ever
Let you go
But you need
To know

Just one reason is good enough

Give me a reason to love you
From every little thing that you do
Whisper my name
Whisper your love
Give a reason to love
You

You gave me a million reasons to love you
And now I think
I do.

Morning sunlight lighting the dark hardwood floors
Pages being turned and voices no louder than a whisper
People shuffling in and out the doors
The rain coming in at last
Shifting the clouds
Now to overcast
Watching silently just barely a glance
Observing life as it is
Hoping for the chance
To feel something more
Become something better
Moods always changing
According to the weather
I sip the burn of this morning roast
Nibble my eggs
Crunch on my toast
People in the park sway on the swings
Probably thinking
Of such trivial things
Man on the corner of the street
Checking the time
He's got somewhere to be
Getting back to the daily grind
A tearful woman sitting on the bench
Crying her heart out
From the guy who called her a *****
Life appears all around us
We choose what to ignore
The sick, the healthy
The rich, the poor.
