I don't care for you
Ali Phillips May 2015
I saw the spark of Christ in you

Flash, burn and disappear

Drunk and smiling

Strung up with happy

I sat on the branch you hung yourself from

A strange fruit

You and you’re ******* gay jokes

Sometimes when I whisper to myself

I wonder if you whisper back

But now the sky is gone

A walk went astray

Took its cloak of time off of eyes

And kissed the wicked goodbye

I can't cut you down

For we are fools in love of seasons change

Silly empath.
     Crying all the time.
          Tender-footed,
               dilly-dallying towards sublime.

nocturne
Ali Phillips May 2015
Honesty takes the form of liquid dreams
Bottled
Secreted away in a nighttime apothecary
Once asleep
Drip, drip on the eyelids
A poisonous dream
Cracks reality open
Molten truths emerge scalding the day

A daytime waking drink leads to weightlessness,
shorn wings
angles into edges into daggers
Everything is leaning
noontime lunch dances together
as memory bubbles burp images of noble flights
