Ahead and clear, the empty void,
So sudden thought my life deployed,
No wings or horns to greet my heart,
Just memories I once enjoyed.

No soul for ferryman to cart,
No visions of another start,
Just endless dark beyond my gaze,
No stars, for my good deeds, to chart.

Lightning mind on short-lived days,
Eyes now fall behind the haze,
A gasp of air, a speechless plea,
Is granted with residual daze.

The question now, here stands before me,
If not now, when shall my time be?
What can I do before I go?
What would they do, if now was lastly?

I do not think I want to know,
For now, I will enjoy the show,
I’ll hide this wisdom deep below,
I do not think I want to know.

A love that lasts,
Lives forever,
This love,
Eternity, can weather.

Begins within,
My deepest soul,
Forever young,
Ne’er to grow old.

A love that learns,
Widens, and lengthens.
This love,
Exponentially strengthens.

No vessel,
Could love’s volume hold,
Infinite,
Is this love so bold.

This love that burns,
As brightest star,
Belongs to you,
Close and afar.

No other’s love,
Do I dare seek,
No other’s love,
So loudly speaks.

This love will last,
Will live forever,
This love,
Eternity, can weather.

Begins within,
My deepest soul,
Forever young,
Ne’er to grow old.

A solemn painted picture stands,
Before the reach of sober hands,
Funereal strokes; grave-tone acrylic,
Woe is he, sought tones idyllic.

What to expect, thought painters mind,
No solace brushed, no hope defined,
No revelry, so reconcile,
Behind the guise of broken smile.

Foreboding canvas, realized him,
‘t would never-ending be life grim,
Fettered anguish, bound by sorrow,
Clatters every waking morrow.

O dreams of bliss that never show!
So wearisome I ever-grow,
These chains, they offer no release,
Should I seek elsewhere means of peace?

An answer forms behind blue eyes,
Draw from life, to grant apprise,
A final coat of crimson hue,
A thousand words to those who view.

His chosen palette, from arms length,
A sanguinary loss of strength,
In crowning strokes, awaited bliss,
An amity in work dismissed.
