Acacia Rose Dec 2012
I cry because there is so little
we can do about
the things
that don't go quite right
the sorrow and mourning
to the blue skies and mornings
such a spectrum of difference there is.
You smile and my world
lights up
somewhere, someone fades
closes their eyes and their light
burns out like
a candle
and I worry about you not texting back
Acacia Rose Oct 2012
I churn out these words,
whispers, soft like snowflakes
gentle on your skin
Acacia Rose Oct 2012
restless limbs, thrashing
wordless lips, mourning
I call out
you come
but can you save me?
I am lost
you come
but can you be a shelter?
My home resides with you
but things are so transparent
as clear as the glass
from which it is built

she says
next year, you will look at this and say
this is how it all started

but I say
how can I be sure
of the future
when I have not yet conquered
my past
Acacia Rose Oct 2012
Fading
into the depths of your arms
solace only found
in that deep, dark silence
aware
that this is wrong
her heart lain out
you the slaughterer
my conscience
sits on your shoulder
whispering words of
discouragement
yet you
in your blunder
blindly
continue
and she hurts and burns
and I hurt and burn
and none of us can see past
our folly

You.
You're calming like raindrops caressing my window
You're brilliant like the sun's rays on my face
You're mighty as a twirling hurricane
You're majestic like a mountain, protruding from the Earth

You're peaceful like the moonlight gleaming through my doorway
You're astounding like the vastness of the sky
You're powerful like the current of a river
You're eternal, infinite and ageless, like the elements, in my eyes.
