But then I found
frustration
anger
hate
sadness

I lost them
I was falling for someone
And I found
happiness
love
peace

And I found home

If i had an empty bottle
Hanging on a tree
For every time
You told me i wasn't
Pretty enough
Sweet enough
Popular enough
Smart enough
Funny enough
Good enough
Enough

If i had a full bottle
hanging on a tree
For every time
I told you you weren’t
Pretty enough
Sweet enough
Popular enough
Smart enough
Funny enough
Good enough
Enough

People would think i was a drunk
Because my tree would be full of empty bottles.

I act tough to your face
But I still look at our old texts
And wait for that message
The message that never came
The message that will never come

Poetry is
useless
boring
meaningless
stupid

Until you

lose someone
find love
are alone
have feelings

Then poetry is

useful
friendly
meaningful
understanding

My smile is piano
My voice is piano
My behavior
Everyone thinks my outside is piano
But
My hurting is forte
My frustration is forte
My feelings are forte
Nobody thinks that my inside is forte

I’m not in love with him
      I’m not in love with how he looks.  
             I’m not in love with who he was.
                      I’m not in love with who he his.
                 I’m not in love with his personality
          
I’m in love with who I thought he was.

Just because

Does not mean

Away from
The whole world
Except

I wish i could be prettier
I wish i could be sweeter
I wish i could be popular
I wish i could be smarter
I wish i could be funnier
I wish i could be better
I wish i could be enough
I wish i could
I wish you could like me back

i hated love
i was broken
and then you swooped in and fixed me
for a while, you fixed everything
i loved love
i loved to love you
i loved you
but it turns out that love doesnt fix things permanently
when i started to break
just a little
you ripped a band aid off a wound that wasnt healed yet
and now
i hate love

when socks get a hole
you could
fix it
or
throw them away
and get a new pair

like life

if it gets too messed up to handle anymore
you could
try to fix it
or get rid of it
and maybe someday
youll get a new one

but maybe fixing it is better than throwing them away
because maybe they match perfectly with a pair of pants or a shirt
so try to fix the socks before throwing them away
they might be just right with something else

When they come
come to take me away
They have angelic wings
almost glowing a perfect, subtle light

Flying through the darkness
soaring through the night sky
To a girl waiting
Waiting, wishing, hoping, for them

When they come
they will take me away
I will get my wings
I will acquire a soft glow

They will fly me through darkness
Help me to soar through the night sky
And I will save the next girl waiting
Waiting, wishing, hoping for us

We will take her away
So she can be like us
So she can have wings and a glow
So she can be an angel, too.
