Silver Medal
A Forrest Oct 2010
He was your silver medal
A consolation prize in my eyes
Nowhere near the best you can do
And you knew it to

Now in your days of freedom
With blood and sweat in your pen
The gold medal is just out of reach
Or so it seems again

What worked on all the rest
Won't melt the heart in a golden chest
For he knows all of your crimes this time
And you know them to

It must be strange trying to prove yourself
In a life spent feeling proven
What's worse is knowing anyone but me
Will be your silver medal

Elemental
A Forrest Aug 2010
Siren song, pull me past the silt
Guide my body beneath continents of ice
I need to swoon in every sea
Never encased by earth

Take flight beneath the current
Assimilate with the sky
One in the same
Cremate tonight

Churn with the waves by day
Stagnate with the fog at dusk
Drift and whip wild with smoke by night
To be elemental
To be the wind on their lips
When they whisper… “immortal”

No earth-bound monument to my name
No stone to stir remembrance
I will be worthy of memory
Let me absorb into a landscape scenery

Cold Solstice
A Forrest Aug 2010
On this Winter Solstice night
Shadows of cold souls abound
A golden dawn may never come
For you or anyone

Embrace the cloak of ebon
For it surely abounds
Tonight and for all time
Churn out every dismal sound

On the longest night ever known
The Earth lies frozen
Waiting with visible breath
For the sun to return

You need a compression
Of the mind
You need effemeral
To hide your signs

Stop their intrusion
In your special brain
Control your alphawaves
In the psychic sparring room

A telepathic link
Can slow his heart
Or with wrath
You can blow his head apart

My art keeps me sane...
My art..."

Rabbit in the Rain
A Forrest Dec 2011
I spied a rabbit in the rain
He froze in my presence
Wondering if ****** was my aim
And I thought about his lot in life

Was he far from home?
Or was a warm, dry place near?
Could his belly be full?
Did he know the pain of hunger?

I terrified him
Though I did not try
His heart beat faster as he ran
While I sighed and went inside
I just sighed and went inside

Like Hot Lead
A Forrest Apr 2011
In a moment of intimacy
We exchanged pleasantries
When the vibe was ready
I spoke a rememberance

When I thought you were gone
Forever my guard was dead
But that sweet pastel feeling
Found its way in me again

You've got that kind of power
And you know where we end
Pick it up like hot lead
Without saying what was dead

Cloaked
A Forrest Dec 2010
Cloaked in pedals
Tame the energy
Sweeping and striking
Bending in time

In repetition of truth
Truth is revealed
Veins of metal
Break the brain seal

Cloaked in effects
Wield electric whips
Sqeezing my mind
'Til my fingers drip

Dreamt
A Forrest Apr 2011
I asked the old man,
"What age are you in dreams?"
The man, now 93, said "19"

In dreams we create scenes
From our own archeives
For better or worse
In terror and triumph
They are inside our minds

I can see myself how I want to be
I can see things they can't see

But, Lo! The horrors I have
Are just as great

Manifesto
A Forrest Aug 2010
My longing runs deepest
When I hear the baying
Of that 3 a.m. train…

People only write manifestos
When they feel threatened
And here is mine

I won’t fall prey to the ways
Of your fabricated stakes
Filled with worry without warrant

The path I walk will always be obscure
But it is mine now

When we first met
They said you were a *****
And I didn't believe them
You seemed intelligent
(Well, intelligent enough)

The days of silence between us
Grew to weeks and months
I was almost done
Chewing on thoughts of you

How pathetic of me (Why?)
Because you're a ****
Truly a disgrace to your gender
A waste of my time

A smile meets my face
When I know
You'll wake crusted over
With a man who couldn't care less for you

Duel
A Forrest Nov 2010
I'm dressed as drab as the sky
With the sun soaking wet
I breathe out a sigh
In a room alone
But with a second set of my eyes

He sits here and I sit there
Our eyes refuse to meet
One of us is right, you know
It's just a question of when we'll see

I'll let him hang around for now
And think what he wants to think
Because I know I'm fine
Even if he's on the brink

An Eastbound Storm
A Forrest Aug 2010
While I watch the lightning fade
I could be there for you
The danger blurs along the horizon
We hold close a vision of oneness

In a sudden calming of the sky
There could be a place for you and I
When the gusts of urgency melt
Dispel the heat of life’s blood

A new dawn could be birthed
With a surge of pleasure
We’d come to the precipice of pain
And the stars would know we’ve crossed

Newly Departed
A Forrest Aug 2010
You’ll come on over to my place
But it’s all for nothing
Because your plans are to move away
And I’m a signpost on your journey
To a better life

I’m the one you tie on
Before you find yourself
Elsewhere and full of vigor
One more dead boy to trail along

This isn’t good enough to make you stay
I cannot blame you
It’s this wretched state
That forced you to move on

You won’t miss me tomorrow
And I won’t judge you
How on Earth could I?
For we really didn’t begin at all

Others have left me the same way
And I’m starting to get used to it
We end and you truly begin
Farewell, truly farewell…and goodbye

Three to Five
A Forrest Oct 2010
Most women have three to five
Three to five men to choose from
One or two at work
Two or three when at play

She doesn't have to try
All five are a wink or a nod away
They remain in wait to get laid
And she holds all the power

Some women don't realize their strength
They seem to have not a clue
At least that's what they want you to think
When you're not their chosen one

But, I know full well
They can have their pick of three to five
Three to five men
Some who've waited a long time to be chosen
By the one who holds real conrol
