Most women have three to five
Three to five men to choose from
One or two at work
Two or three when at play

She doesn't have to try
All five are a wink or a nod away
They remain in wait to get laid
And she holds all the power

Some women don't realize their strength
They seem to have not a clue
At least that's what they want you to think
When you're not their chosen one

But, I know full well
They can have their pick of three to five
Three to five men
Some who've waited a long time to be chosen
By the one who holds real conrol

When we first met
They said you were a *****
And I didn't believe them
You seemed intelligent
(Well, intelligent enough)

The days of silence between us
Grew to weeks and months
I was almost done
Chewing on thoughts of you

How pathetic of me (Why?)
Because you're a ****
Truly a disgrace to your gender
A waste of my time

A smile meets my face
When I know
You'll wake crusted over
With a man who couldn't care less for you

Siren song, pull me past the silt
Guide my body beneath continents of ice
I need to swoon in every sea
Never encased by earth

Take flight beneath the current
Assimilate with the sky
One in the same
Cremate tonight

Churn with the waves by day
Stagnate with the fog at dusk
Drift and whip wild with smoke by night
To be elemental
To be the wind on their lips
When they whisper… “immortal”

No earth-bound monument to my name
No stone to stir remembrance
I will be worthy of memory
Let me absorb into a landscape scenery

You’ll come on over to my place
But it’s all for nothing
Because your plans are to move away
And I’m a signpost on your journey
To a better life

I’m the one you tie on
Before you find yourself
Elsewhere and full of vigor
One more dead boy to trail along

This isn’t good enough to make you stay
I cannot blame you
It’s this wretched state
That forced you to move on

You won’t miss me tomorrow
And I won’t judge you
How on Earth could I?
For we really didn’t begin at all

Others have left me the same way
And I’m starting to get used to it
We end and you truly begin
Farewell, truly farewell…and goodbye

While I watch the lightning fade
I could be there for you
The danger blurs along the horizon
We hold close a vision of oneness

In a sudden calming of the sky
There could be a place for you and I
When the gusts of urgency melt
Dispel the heat of life’s blood

A new dawn could be birthed
With a surge of pleasure
We’d come to the precipice of pain
And the stars would know we’ve crossed

My longing runs deepest
When I hear the baying
Of that 3 a.m. train…

People only write manifestos
When they feel threatened
And here is mine

I won’t fall prey to the ways
Of your fabricated stakes
Filled with worry without warrant

The path I walk will always be obscure
But it is mine now

On this Winter Solstice night
Shadows of cold souls abound
A golden dawn may never come
For you or anyone

Embrace the cloak of ebon
For it surely abounds
Tonight and for all time
Churn out every dismal sound

On the longest night ever known
The Earth lies frozen
Waiting with visible breath
For the sun to return
