A Allen Dec 2012
There may never be a picture- perfect moment.
You may never wake up
in a magical fairytale,
and there's never going to be music
to accompany you in your daily life.
But this life is yours and no one else's.
it is unique and incomparable.
you are simply,
marvellous you.
A Allen Oct 2011
Take a breath,
don't shutter.
One day, you'll see.
There's more beauty
than heartache,
more love
than despair.
Just look a little
closer,
feel a little
harder.
One day, you'll see.

Is this what your mind perceived?
A world so fragile;
So desolate.
This utopia you dreamt of,
Wrote down every fragment;
Every detail.
It was planned so perfectly.
Now your dreams
Have been washed away.
By the waves you thought
Would bring you joy.

Come back to me, my love.
You’ve been gone far too long,
And it’s half-past time
For your return.
Bring back your beauty,
Your inspiration, your passion.
The tides coming in fast tonight,
I’ll stay by the lighthouse,
In case you get lost.
You can find your way back to me, love.
I’ll light up the night sky
With all the embers burning in my heart.
There must be a way,
You can return to me.
A Allen Oct 2011
I can’t see
Through this constant darkness
Your illuminating glow
No longer lights my way.
Maybe this time
It will be different.
We convince ourselves
We lie to ourselves
We deceive our hearts
Into seeing what we want
Instead of what we need
What we need, though,
Is nothing like each other.
We don’t bother with thinking
That’s too sensible
After all,
Sensibility is for the strong.
--and we’re so weak.

dad
She could really use you right now,
There’s something in the back,
Of her overflowing mind
That’s telling her it won’t be okay;
If you’re not there.
She needs to know
Just how proud you are
Of the little girl you left behind
She yearns to know
That what she’s doing
Is what’s meant to be.
She wants some reassurance
In her overwhelming life
She’s been playing strong
For far too long now.
You can’t leave her much longer
Before she falls apart.
If only you knew,
You’d be here with her now.
Giving her hope,
Giving her what she needs.
Even for a moment,
It could change everything.
She doesn’t have the strength
To carry on with such
Disposition,
Her heart aches for better days
She’s never dreamt like the other children,
Her wishes were for something worthwhile.
They wanted fun and games—
But not her, no,
She just wished to see you once more
To hear your voice,
One last time.
By now it’s too late,
She knows you’re never coming back.
You’ve moved on,
It’s time for her to do the same.
