Settling into School
Disha Mandal Nov 2022
A new day, a new place, a new school with a new face
It may seem weird to some
To move around year after year
But to others
Its something we've grown not to fear
The syllabus will be rushed once more
Change will occur
In order to score well
There has to be no error
Talking to new people, interacting with new teachers
Something a lot of us fear
Yet we stand tall and fake it till we make it
To make sure its a well spent year
The new house allotment , And the new uniform
May all seem humdrum
But to me , I could pull of a fashion show
With uniforms from different schools, like a rainbow
And once after settling
Were  bound to leave again
We think of those we will miss
We think of what will remain
But what more can we do than packing up and leaving
To a new place a new school  a new day
Worth all the passing
Settling into a new school
Settling into a new place
Doesn't seem to scare me
For i am not scared to embrace

The stars in the sky look so beautiful
The way you looked in my eyes felt so wonderful
How could one small glance mean so much
How could you make me smile so much
The wishes i make under the sky
Sometimes make me cry
Still i ve been trying to find
A chance to see shooting stars in the night
A law has kept me believing in the impossible
And now i feel no possibility of it being possible
I suddenly feel so small thinking it couldnt
have meant nothing at all
All i want is to see you there
Standing in front of the tennis court
Holding a phone in your hand you say
I love you everyday
I miss you everynight
And now i finally see your smile

Right Under
Disha Mandal Dec 2020
The snow keeps falling
The footprints remain
The path we walked on
Is too far away
All I wanna do is go back and find
The thing that I lost to those guys
Hold onto my hand
Hold onto the fight
In the end it makes us stronger
Because we just start to realise

Do Hold
Disha Mandal Dec 2020
The skies call out to me
Just for me to see
There you are
Shining bright with the stars
How come we can look
At each others eyes
Cause when I see you
I just make up stupid lies
You're like the chapter
I don't wanna stop reading
U r the one with whom
I wanna experience the ending
Oh its not your fault
I was supposed to halt
But if i don't now
Im gonna fall

why
Disha Mandal May 2020
why
why are you so far away
why are you radiating such a light
why cant you just come and stay
why do i look up in night
why do i wish to become yours
why do i have to be someone you cant see
why do i want that i to be ours
why cant you just be with me

Choices
Disha Mandal Aug 2019
I stand here in the middle of the road
Thinking if I should follow the code
All my friends raced and left me behind
Still wondering if I should have been that kind
I think of what to do and I turn
Looking back at the Memories and Moments of fun
I looked at a photo and stare at it
Remember asking mom 'Am I set'
Set to get what I want
And set to be whoever I want
'Your as set as you can be honey', she said
With nothing but a smile
Knowing that I would Shine
Do I take my time
And let things chime
I'll succeed one day
And while giving my writings I shall surely say
'Thank you mum and dad for making my day'

Our Goodbyes
Disha Mandal Aug 2019
Every time, Every year
I'm scared to tell you guys
Every cry, Every fear
Flies around like flies
But know the time has come
We've shared our differences
I remember the fun
And all the really funny faces
So all I gonna say is,
I'm gonna have to say goodbye
Once in a while
I'll try to make it through my differences
I wish I won't cry
Cuz you know
It's hard to say
Goodbye

A Look at the Book
Disha Mandal Aug 2019
It started off with a book
With an amazing cover
Just read a line or two
And my heart started to hover
Never thought the possibilities
Never looked
But just by touching
It got stuck forever more
Well now can't let go
I'm already holding on
To this superior book
With a few hooks
It started with a look at the book
