Wise Old Man
Cryslyn Tucay Dec 2020
I'm living inside the box mine
Books were scattered, my pen runs out
The winds were calling me to come
Whisper into my ears, the light is near

But, the wise old man said
Seeking for answers is unending tunnel
You might see a glimpse of fickle
it's still not the end

Sitting under the oak tree
Dusk until dawn unravel the mystery
I saw an owl, it guides me on my way
I'm not blinded but unable to see

Teardrops on my guitar
Cryslyn Tucay Jun 2020
I smell the rust on my fingers
I got my own melody
I found what chords and notes
Strings starts to play
But I can't find the word
there's no voice to out
only tears.
I wrote this while I'm in a song-writing phase hehe; it turns out like this

Mute
Cryslyn Tucay Jun 2020
When I first see the light
I never imagine that this life would be hard
My silent is my deepest cry
I stayed mute and trap between dark and daylight

I remember
How to run away
I remember
How I scattered into broken pieces

But it happens again
it happens again
it happens again

it never washed from my mind

Words
Cryslyn Tucay Jun 2020
Words are born from people's mouth
and die in their ears
But some words don't die
They go into people's heart and survive

You calm the current of the sea
You break me for I am able to see
that what you got is better
than what I want

You taught me that seeds die before they grow
You go with me into the deepest current flow

When you begin to speak the tide of battle turns
You gave me a new melody and a sound of horn
Greater things come upon your name

In exchange of minutes of attention
You are being programmed
by the noise of crowd

Never ending loop of approval
to satisfy overly imaginative mind
with the twisted truth
the world is not yours

We are on summertime
Cryslyn Tucay Jun 2020
I've seen how us endeavor
bear fruit and grow but-
like what you’ve said in Songs of Solomon
“do not awaken love until awakes on its accord”
Feelings should not be stirred too early
Let them sleep until
it’s time for them to awake

One season will end,
and one season will begin.
We are on summertime
We harvest joy and inspiration,
but God I know the foundation of
what spring will bring is not yet sufficient.

For now, I let the autumn leaves fall and see its beauty

I really thought
We were headed down that road
but here my heart purify it now
and be in your hands until it's ready
to feel someone's warm and embrace
Prompt: write about the love that withers and bloom

Like the Seasons
Cryslyn Tucay Jun 2020
Seasons, my life goes encircles
Embrace the beauty of its time
I let the snowflakes fall like-
How I admire an autumn leaves grow old

Hey winter, you are tough
But I let you deepen until you reach my soil

Hi Spring, You gave me a
new beginning to grow

Oh, Dear Summer, I waited for so long
Thank you for letting me out

Then fall comes,
I won’t let missing you out

Sometimes
Sometimes, I fall back
But after that
After that, I know I am braver
I know that I am braver
Ecclesiastes 3:1
God has a time for everything a season for every activity under heaven.

Breathe
Cryslyn Tucay Jun 2020
For once, I speak of truth
This weights me down
It's heavy, It's loud
Uncover the missing piece of me

Walls, I built them so high
Saw that shadows pulled me off

I closed doors
I forgot to breathe
Create spaces
I reminded to breathe

Uncertain atmosphere
No longer fear me to have courage to roar
Filling that void-
that I hide for so long
Prompt: A reminder that it's okay for you to create spaces for you to be able to breathe and grow

Room 19

Don't draw a line on purpose
Break down those walls
It can't be invaded by just anyone
But here he is
trying to knock

in my room 19

Epiphany of Life
Cryslyn Tucay Jun 2020
Season of searching path
My soul lost its way
Unclear vision
Where are you going to lead me?

Sinking to the depths of water
Expand my horizon
Until I figure it out
I will go even though, I'm uncertain

Setbacks won't won
Warrior of stepping stone
Amidst of storm
My father is on the throne

Lost in track of destination
Along the way
I found my epiphany
Wildwood is my destiny
Prompt: Soul searching amidst of turmoil
