I had known her my whole life
Since I was a child
She was happy, carefree
With no sorrows in her heart
No pain in her smile
No tears to hold back
She had not yet met grief
Or any of his friends
She loved the world
For she had not known the truth behind it’s beauty
She had not met the monsters under it’s bed
Or the ones hidden in the closet
She had seen beauty within it’s
Dark, beastly eyes
A heart behind it’s
Walls of fire and sleet
She could see the good in anything,
In anyone
She could see the truth
Beneath his sinners lies
And a reason to justify him
She had a reason to love
All of everything
That's all gone now
Down the drain
Like the lunch she disgorged
As tears roll down her cheeks
Dripping into the sink
Like her dinner from yesterday
And the day before that
Like the times
She would get a good night's sleep
Filled with peaceful dreams
Instead of staying up
Staring into a mirror of regrets
Otherwise known as a ceiling
It’s Evanescent
Like her love for the world
Her love for people
Her Love for all of everything
Now she doesn’t even remember
What it’s like
To love something so much
That you can’t see
It’s imperfections
