Melancholy rain
recalls your dew like tears
glistening upon ebony skin

Those drops had fallen and settled
like morning dew on
slender blades of grass

The claps of thunder
reminiscent of your
fits of rage

The rain is full
Of unpleasant memories
And yet I gaze at it

Longingly.
Took an older poem and changed around the wording.

Melancholy rain
Make tears look like dew
On dawn grass

Drops fall and simmer
dew stays cool and still
But wouldn’t you know

You’ve seen the dew
On your own face
And observed the rain
Fall

I want to build a city
on another planet
far away from here

It would be nice and serene
more stunning than Earth
and the landscape a miracle

My city would be filled with people
who are kind and friendly
or maybe it might contain
the brightest and most content

How nice would it be to see
a place other than this one
that has now become so
dull.
I'm sort of new to this so please feel free to leave constructive criticism!!
