Sticks and stones may break my bones but what you said to me cut so much deeper.

A sunset where the sky is ablaze in deep purples, bright pinks, with soft yellows and oranges.
Birds flying through the sky are as calm and as carefree as anything could be.
An old dog and their companion sitting down loving each other as they have for years.
A full moon sparkling in the sky like a great white gem emerging as the sun sets and the twinkling stars following not long after.
yet you’re still the more beautiful than all of that combined.

Friends are a privilege
yet I take them for granted.
Care and love should never be tossed aside,
Yet I never accepted it when given to me.
I’m afraid when I’m alone,
Yet I never let anyone close to me.
I’m more afraid to hurt people than be hurt,
Yet I made all my friends turn away.

A friend is a limb, like an extension of yourself.
Always there helping you, sometimes without having to say so.
But sometimes it gets wounded or infected.
If the wound is too much or infection too degrading you have to get rid of it.
At first everything reminds you of it and you constantly think that life will never be the same, and in some aspects it is.
But always remember that if you kept it, it would have hurt you so much more than losing it.

I once knew the touch of someone who loved me.
Now they hate me.
Every moment I remiss about their gentle touch
Their honey filled voice
How they were the only person I could cry to
The smell of their perfume.
Sometimes I even catch myself rereading the letter they send me a thousand times over.
I only wish things went a little differently.
Maybe if I told them how I felt a little sooner
but now it’s too late for that...
I’ll never forget her...
I’ll never forgive myself for how I treated her.

There are so many beautiful stars in the sky but sometimes when you just focus on one, the rest fade out of view

The night will always get dark, but I’ll always remember what the day looked like and how bright the sun shines. That’s what keeps me going.
