I Am Become Pan
Tell me, Rocky - Mr. E
(?mystery?) that is -
Tell me Mr. E,
is the alpha information
really still sending?

It's been a while
since Mr. Fantastic
(let alone Mr. Fox)
has meant something to me;
however, I've found
a few things that I
could truly call "worthy"
when willing to sacrifice
more than my time.

Like Mr. "Fulham Road" Anderson
who, in all of his wisdom,
taught me precisely
how to skin the cat
(all of this and some of that).

In him I found
a final true moment
shared with my father
before "the hush" came
and the old man was gone.

So...
Now I am become Pan,
the Hook's bane ascending
(minus the tights).

Hear ye!
Hear ye!

As head of the Ticking Clock
Preservation Society,
I hereby declare that
on this, the twenty-seventh
day of December,
two-thousand and
seventeen,
it is to be recognized that,
henceforth,
the setting of alarms
shall be considered
our one nations true
patriotic pastime.

Yeah, man...
It's lonely here lately
without the old man
kicking and screaming.

If only Captain
Marvel could
see me right now.

As I drop the needle
on "Lucifer Sam"
I settle down slowly
and escape in my enemies;
they numb me completely
until nothing else matters
and sad things can't hurt me.
"Can you help me with this?"

Turning my way
Both confident and beautiful
She forfeits her pride
And two AA batteries

"Please?"

I destroy her completely
Reduce her to ashes
I am fearless, I am music
I am murderous laughter

"...."

In a moment her voice
First muddled and low
Snaps into focus
Railroads my daydream

"I can't get them in"

I am
Unmatched....
In my passion
For this woman

"Nuclear holocaust"

Safe in a whisper
It crawls along slow
Sloth-like and stealthy
Avoiding disaster

"I'm sorry?"

She summons the nerve
Stands by the notion
Miles are between us
She's hard pressed to know

"I am too..."

I hand her the proof
Of how useless she is
Batteries in place
Everything working

"Thanks a bunch!"

My rage is unwonted
My violence inevitable
I am revenge in the aftermath
I become it completely

"You're welcome"

Maybe tomorrow...
Or a day spent without
Free pizza and root beer
Champagne in the break room
In my mind, Alice is a severely unhinged person who uses anger at the intellectually inferior as a scapegoat for an actual, murderous hatred of women. This hatred more than likely developed before she became a woman herself. I'm not sure what possessed me to write this. It's certainly a foreign perspective.

Mammoth Descending
On a Saturday in June
I teleported brazen
To the far reach of nothing
In a wisdom pursuit

And I rumbled

Magnetic in my algebra
I sought to construct
In willful transgression
A purification logic

And voices made manifest

"Behave quest wanderer
Humble thine errand
You stand before those
Not of your station"

And I trembled

"Bleed me of consequence"
Said I unto the foundation
"Mine hubris knows not
Of humility damnation
As one who in seeking
Must loosen constriction"

And voices came delicate

"To quantify in earnest
All that is infinite
One must ascend
Finite perspective"

"Imagine the beast
In blissful stagnation
Asking a man
To divine inspiration"

And I wondered in protest

"Must one then assume
That beastly existence
Is wrought with restriction
Or bereft of expression?"

"Consider the spider
Spinning life love artistic
Or the mammoth descending
To live altruistic"

And I rumbled

On a Saturday in June
I teleported brazen
From the far reach of nothing
In a wisdom pursuit
