Me and my mother,⁣
We have always been in a quest
for a permanent roof and a man.⁣
Someone who would love her
and taste her new recipes,⁣
And someone who would play soccer
with me in his off days.⁣

She has already been with men
who never visit us more than once.⁣
They come, smile at me like
they have all the world's sympathy for me,⁣
Then vanish into her room.⁣
Later, disappear like men who go to wars.⁣

Sometimes, she sobs like the girl in my class,⁣
Who lost her pencil box on her way to home.⁣
I have often tried to fill the void,⁣
Of the men who have lost their way to her.⁣
But, it seems like I am never enough.⁣

I ask her about my father,⁣
And all she answers is that he died
in an accident at the mine he used to work.⁣
But, the people in my colony tell me,⁣
That, I never had a father,⁣
And I am an unwanted *******.⁣

This time, I see her search is over,⁣
I am sure she is tired of waiting for that
last love letter which is never going to arrive.⁣
She just relinquished everything,⁣
She keeps hanging to the ceiling,⁣
Her eyes shut like an abandoned door⁣
of a wrecked house.⁣
And her body finally rests like the flowers
who find their way into a grave.⁣
