Today is the Feast of Saint Philip and James
For the sake of this poem let’s shorten their names

Let’s start with Saint Philip,
let’s call him Saint Phil
He was one of the 12 that let his love spill
“Come and see! Nathanael! Meet Jesus, he’s brill!”
“He chose me! Come join me! Let’s both walk uphill!”
They spread the good news & bowed down to God’s will
Then the enemy wanted to ****

Now let’s touch on Saint James,
let’s call him Saint Jame
He was one of the 12 that rose up to fame
Seems faith without works is just a blame game
Said gold and silver will burn you in flame
Then the enemy wanted to tame

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water
James and Phil went up the hill to feed them fish from water
King Charles fell down and broke his crown, his soul came tumbling after
The Saints fell down but rose with crown;
a God given crown for each martyr!

James the Lesser and James the Just
Is the same man we ought to trust
He told us what would turn into rust
Let’s do the right thing before turning to dust!

Saints Philip and James;
Let’s remember their names!!

Happy Feast of Saints Philip and James!
Holy Spirit baptise you in flames!
🪄🪄🪄🔥🔥🔥
Every line of this poem is deliberate and intentional, including the Jack and Jill nursery rhyme.

Look up the history if you don’t get it.
God’s plan had all been pieced

Lord God Jesus served the least

Asked for Colt to be released

Offered bread that had no yeast

For 3 days his life had ceased

Lived, died, rose up in the East

To destroy the Satan beast

That is why today we feast

In celebration led by priest

Easter was born in East!
A Religious Deep Dive for all who are interested:

Holy Week & its Peak
(The Peak is Easter)

God’s plan had all been pieced
(Every detail was designed with precision and love)

Lord God Jesus served the least
(Through the gospels we witness Jesus serving all kinds of sinners and he is still serving us)

Asked for Colt to be released
(Refers to Palm Sunday. The young donkey was freed for divine purpose. An unlikely lowly being was given the place of honour by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. It is believed that the donkey had wished to carry the burden of the cross and turned his head away at seeing Jesus’ crucifixion, because he was grief stricken. As a reward for the young donkey’s loyalty and love, the image of the cross got imprinted on the donkey’s back and ever since, the same breed of donkey bears the mark of the cross)

Offered bread that had no yeast
(Refers to Maundy Thursday. Look up The Last Supper which was a Passover Meal.
Bread = Body of Christ, Yeast = Sin.
In other words, God offers up his body that is pure and without sin. This is why unleavened bread is consecrated during Mass)

For 3 days his life had ceased
(Refers to Good Friday.  Jesus suffered, died and was dead for 3 days & 3 nights. The death went as far as Jesus being descended into hell. Look up the ‘Stations of the Cross’ and ‘Scriptural Way of the Cross’ for details of what happened immediately prior)

Lived, died, rose up in the East
(Within Christianity, East is symbolic in more ways than one. East being the symbol of Christ is probably the most significant)

To destroy the Satan beast
(We are all fallen people and even-though we are called to walk the straight path and are expected to adhere to the laws, we are still fallen; even when we try our best; this is because sin entered us through Adam and Eve. Only the sacrifice of the spotless lamb of God (Jesus) can redeem us from the grips of Satan, wash away our sins and make us new again)

That’s why today we feast
(God has gone to extreme lengths to save us. It’s the feast of all feasts because Easter is witness to God’s unconditional agape love for mankind)

In celebration led by priest
(Priests lead the celebration. The ones who have made God their vocation and who are forever reminding us of the world’s greatest Hero)

Easter was born in East!
(Christians believe that Jesus is God, therefore Jesus always existed.  It’s irrelevant how the word ‘Easter’ came about. When it boils down to it, East is in the name and East is the place where it all happened.  East in Easter is not a coincidence but the foreshadowing of Jesus’ life, like many historic events that took place during the BC period)

A great love story captivates hearts, minds and souls but when one discovers the greatest love story ever told one will not be able to get enough of it!!! ☺️

This is why the events highlighted during Holy Week and its Peak are the most discussed, researched, studied, analysed, tested and reflected upon. Salvation History is a marvellous marvel!

Happy Easter!!!
❤️✝️🐣
I built a life of silk and gold,
A castle high, a wealth untold.
My hands adorned with jewels bright,
My days were bathed in soft delight.

I sailed the seas on ships of pride,
Where sun and stars and time abide.
I feasted on the finest spread,
Exotic fruits and wine so red.

The voices rose in songs of praise,
They called me great, they spoke my name.
Admired, adored, in grand embrace,
Yet in my heart; an empty space.

For laughter rang but felt untrue,
Like echoes lost in hollow rooms.
And though my hands held all things fine,
A deeper hunger plagued my mind.

Then silence fell; a voice so near,
Soft yet strong, it reached my ear.
“Blessed are the poor,” it sighed,
“For they shall know the Lord inside.”

I turned and saw the world unseen,
Beyond my walls of selfish dreams.
The earth, once full, was stripped and bare,
Its rivers choked, its forests scarce.

I saw the child with hollowed eyes,
The mother’s tears, the beggar’s cries.
The labourer bent, his hands like stone,
His toil to build what’s not his own.

And then I knew; my hands had fed,
Not mouths of need, but greed instead.
My excess stole, my waste destroyed,
My blindness left the world devoid.

The beauty I had sought was lost,
For beauty’s found in love not cost.
Not in gold, nor wealth amassed,
But in the hearts of those who lack.

For caring is sharing; giving, not hoarding,
And caring is daring; to fight without folding.
Caring is bearing; the burdens of pain,
And caring is airing; to weep in God’s name.

The ugliest life is the one lived in vain,
A life without thought for the broken in pain.
But the greatest of joys, the richest of days,
Is found in the heart that loves and obeys.

So take not the path of selfish delight,
For all that is gold will vanish from sight.
But blessed are those who suffer and give,
For they shall inherit the kingdom and live.
Founded a prayer group named ‘Holy Family Prayer Group’ at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Hayes, Middlesex, UK.

I wrote this poem for one of the prayer gatherings. It’s based on Luke 6:17, 20-26.
In the tapestry of time, their stories intertwine, five souls of greatness, their light does shine.

Jesus, Gandhi, Saint Francis so serene,
Pope Francis, Mother Teresa, a divine dream.

Jesus, the Son of God, a beacon of love,
taught forgiveness and grace from heaven above.

With miracles and kindness, he healed the sick, selfless sacrifice, this wasn’t a trick!

Gandhi, the Mahatma, with nonviolence as his creed, fought for justice, in India's time of need.  His life of simplicity, a powerful protest, in the face of oppression, he stood as the best.

Saint Francis of Assisi, a lover of all life,
Sang praises to creation, amid struggle and strife.  With humble heart and animals by his side, he showed that all creatures, in God's eyes, abide.

Pope Francis, the shepherd of the modern age, preaches stewardship, as we turn the page.  To care for the Earth, our common home, in his encyclical, Laudato Si, he has shown.

Mother Teresa, the embodiment of grace,
In Calcutta's slums, she found her place.
With love as her language, the poor she embraced, her selfless service, humanity embraced.

What these great souls shared, a common thread, was love for humanity, where hearts are fed.  Compassion, humility, and selflessness so grand, they changed the world, left footprints in the sand.

In their love for the poor, the sick, and the weak, they found the strength, in their hearts, to speak.

Of justice, of peace, of a world made anew, in their actions, they showed what we all must do.

Through faith and devotion, their legacies live, in the love they have given, we, too, can give.

For greatness lies not in power or fame,
But in love, in service, in Jesus's name

The Pope didn’t slip down that slippery *****
The Pope said nope to unethical trope
The Pope delivered the pilgrims of hope

He gave comfort to those who couldn’t cope
With dignity he’d cloak
With love he’d envelope
Our beloved Pope
Gave Hope
I wanted to write a poem for Pope Francis yesterday but ended up writing it today.

Today happens to be Earth Day. It’s no secret that Pope Francis cared for creation; our common home. Because of him, it was possible for me to make the environment the central topic of prayer gatherings for a prayer group I founded within the Catholic Church, which traditionally may have rejected the idea prior to his pontificate. The Pope truly gave us hope. Long live his loving legacy! ❤️
Dear Saint George,

In Canada you have a Gorge.  It’s named St. George Gorge.

Did you gallop gallop gallop St. George? With courage, did you forge through a gorge?

Saint George, did you slay a dragon on a horse? Did you forge through a gorge?

Yours sincerely,

Saint Georgia
