Death by disappointment.
Death by doubt
Death by dismay
Death by Disinterest
Death by dissatisfaction
Death by distraction
Death by despising
Death by disillusionment
Death by distrust
Death by despair
Death by distress
Death by desperation
Death by depression.
It is all the ways we die from true heartache
Heartache takes its toll on our bodies and we
Either die by the physical toll  it takes on us
or we choose our own way out
Either way death is inevitable when the heartache
Gets to be too much to bare.

A Child’s Fear
As I lay silently,my heartbeat in my ear
The thunder of footsteps ringing in fear
The night is long and the anger strong
I wonder, is this where I belong?

I only want silence so I cover my ears
I rock back and forth and pray he disappears
He pulls out his belt, beats through her screams
Susie will hear you and wake up from her dreams

She cries out to protect me
Not knowing I’m right there
Under the blanket I whimper and stare
The belt hit me too , I’m there

They are wrapped up in violence
They are too blind to see
Their child is hurting and wanting to flee
Reflecting back to an awful childhood.

My Beautiful Niece
Volkswagen’s you rarely see,
Were  once called a punch buggy
They brought about a playful punch
Below the head, above the knee

Cars with a burnt out headlight
Seen only in the night
We’re once called pididdles
And if you saw them first
The car filled with giggles

Roses without thorns
Colourful  rainbows
And magical unicorns
Are all just a piece
Of how I now see
The inner child
Of my now beautiful adult niece

Self Reflection
If reflection  is must
When I see myself
I see disgust
I have deteriorated over the years
The pain I feel is in my tears
I see life passing me by
Robbing my soul
The lengthy depression
Taking its toll
I want to get better
Get a new start
Please someone
Pick up the pieces
Of my broken heart.
