Stephanie Feb 2019
Sun rise and shine
through the windows
I go wherever
the wind blows
Somewhere in this town
a river flows
Where am I going
heaven only knows

I travelled the world
trying to find who I am
Didn’t know until
I hopped onto a van
An old woman
whom I’ve never seen
smiled at me
and when I looked back at my screen
She said:

“I see you’re sacred
why my dear
Women like you shouldn’t
have any fear
I see you’re lost
well listen to me
Do what you want to do
Be who you want to be

Don’t you dare care
about what others say
Just put yourself out there
you’ll find your way
You’re still young
you have lots of time
Lots of work to do
lots of mountains to climb”

“You shouldn’t worry
about anything
Go explore the world
spread your wings
A long vacation
that’s what you need
to discover your self”
She said to me

Then I went searching
in the right and wrong places
For who I am
around unknown faces
Everywhere I went
her voice played,
in my head, on repeat
forever and ever it stayed

“Take care of yourself
and remember me dear”
Those were her last words
before she disappeared
Work really hard
And go after your dreams
Fight for what you want
For your rights and beliefs
