A Perfect Picture
Stephanie Hannah Nov 2021
You had a perfect picture in your mind
Of the life, you wanted to find
I swear you are ignorant and blind
All you did was call me kind

You told me we did not mesh
Because I was not decisive enough
This knocked me down so I could not express
And it made me opening myself rough

I was scared you would think I was lying
Even though it would just be me trying

After a while, I sat and thought
We had the same target, but different methods of attack
We could have been the perfect team, But I was afraid to spark it
Now I sit here writing in ink that is black

A lack of communication which I realize is from me
But I could not explain, because I can not explain what I foresee
If I explain, the Universe becomes rash
And my life begins to crash

I guess I am selfish
And wanted to relish

But due to my lack of speech
I no longer feel like putting my hand out to reach
My hands are tied and there is nothing I can do
So, I am just sitting here writing out this review

Sixty - five percent is all I have
Of a life which is truly mine
The other thirty-five is a game of roulette which I did not wish to play
But it is my responsibility to live through it and act fine

The thirty-five percent are full of lives which are not mine
I have to know and experience them without knowing why
Because the Universe never chooses to give me a sign
So all I can do is cry

At Last
Stephanie Hannah Nov 2019
At last I can finally breathe
No one telling me what to do
When I know exactly what I need
At last I can put my  choices to the test
Even if they fail
I will know it is for the best
But I will stand tall when they prevail

Love & War
Stephanie Hannah Oct 2018
When I first saw you, I knew there was more to know
Even though I knew you well, you would not let any of it show
You were my other half, perfectly completing me
My total opposite though that you could not see
A love that could have been so strong
Lost because it could have gone terribly wrong

Years later here we are
Both standing quite a distance far

Meeting on the battleground
Swiftly preparing for the final round
You bare your gun the same as your troop
I never thought you would go so low to stoop
I stand across from you with courage and poise
Protecting my people while making no noise

We look into each other's eyes wondering how we ended up here
Feeling as if we were looking at a forgotten reflection in a mirror

You aimed your gun like you were trained to do, to shoot anything in your way
The shot was fired and your path cleared, burning any good left in you leaving me with no words left to say

Fate's Puzzle
Stephanie Hannah Aug 2018
A puzzle which is to be built
The pieces scattered across time
For a reward among-st all my guilt
Lies the punishment for a victim-less crime

Each piece a different clue
Leading nowhere to which I see
But all I ask is who?
And is it truly meant to be?

I can feel you in my dreams so real
Is it all a harsh trick of my mind?
Or am I being showed the real deal?
There is so much more left to find

Still pieces away from being complete
Hinting at a delicate fate
I hope one day we are blessed enough to meet
But in the mean time I guess I will wait

Storm In My Head
Stephanie Hannah Jul 2018
My thoughts are drifting away
I can feel my whole body start to sway
You're hard as hail
I am debating whether to bail

You are a force so strong
Destroying everything in front of you
Creating chaos pretending to do no wrong
It is the only thing you seem to do

You are the storm in my head
Bearing the thunder and the lightening
Using the rain that falls to drown out what you said
In a tornado, we stand enduring Fujita five fighting

You can be the eye of the hurricane
Clear all the clouds away
Bring a fresh breeze which makes me sane
Pausing and holding out for just the day

Rewind
Stephanie Hannah Jul 2018
The story keeps playing going on and on
Moving so fast that you don't know
You feel so lost that you just want to let go
Most of the time you just want to rewind
Figure out the things you missed the first time
Think them through before you skip to the next scene

Heart of Love
Stephanie Hannah Jul 2018
With the start of a dove
We will never be kept apart
That is just too hard
I see myself in you When I look in your eyes

We could never talk
But gravity has me near you

I guess it is the heart of love
Together we are state of the art
We play the same cards
I'll be with you until we part

Fearless
Stephanie Hannah Jul 2018
Close your eyes, take a breath
Go forward and watch your step
Never mind the tree routes sticking out of the ground
Take a breath and clear your mind

Think it through and keep your faith

Your skin goes cold
Your legs feel weak
You are trembling on the spot you stand
Take a breath and clear your mind

Think it through and keep your courage

Show no fear of anything
Think about the situation
Hold it tight and show no one
Remember you are fearless

You're Like a Star to Me
Stephanie Hannah Jul 2018
You're like a spotlight that shining on me
To me you're a light bulb that never burns out
Because of the way you shine in front of me
You're like a star to me

The day grows dark and there are lights in the sky
There's one in front of me which is the brightest of them all
Because of the way you shine in front of me
You're like a star to me

It's like all the other stars seemed to want to leave
Leaving you and me on this clear dark night
Together we make a light
That is strong enough to blind the blind

Because of the way you shine in front of me
You're like a star to me
Stephanie Hannah Jul 2018
Day in and day out
The sun now shines bright
I do not have to shout
But all in all still slightly fight

Moments ago I pushed you away
Now I pull you close so you don't stray
From a far I see you near
You will always be there so dear

Oh look at how we have grown
Our friendship has really shown
We have been through so much
I could not bear leaving such

Even though we hit some walls
In the end we rise with the many falls
We make an interesting team
Even while being a talking meme

Through thick and thin
Through awkward and sweet
Through annoyance and trust
I hope we never turn to dust

Sour
Stephanie Hannah Jul 2018
From the time of the start
To the time near the end
Every possible moment was ****
I can not help but to make my mends

Turning slowly sour

An Unknown Reason
Stephanie Hannah Jul 2018
An unknown reason
Is not for every season
There is no need to cover in paint
Just to seem like a saint

The whole world is one
But some are tired & done
United we be
But they can not see

A world of good is barely there
This is something I can't bear
From East to West
All I see is unrest

A land born from blood
War & violence at a stand
They say we misunderstood
But how they never offered to lend a hand

Surrounded by darkness
In a land I could once proudly call my own
Though I must confess
This was a sight which was truly unknown

Hope
Stephanie Hannah Jul 2018
The twisted heartless night
When everything vanished
Due to a lack of sight
The past is an old friend which whom I do not concern
The present is a losing battle from which I take the knife
Forced in to an unknown mend at which I take a turn
Not yet approached
But on the horizon the future is a tease
Showing what is to be
Giving hope running within me

Parallel
Stephanie Hannah Jul 2018
Different minds with the same thoughts
Behaviors just the same
Separate worlds until one day
They merged together without a say
Pushed me back and I fell
And you were the only one who could tell
Then again I always knew
We were each one part of two

The Time Between
Stephanie Hannah Jul 2018
The Time Between
I have followed many false paths
They all looked the same
I tried to do the math
But I could not figure out your name

Three destinations with only one
Getting glimpses when I can
You are greater than none
I hope to not sound like a fan

Your presence feels right
Like it was meant to be
I see you in my sight
But your are far from in front of me

The ocean may be wide
But we have nowhere to hide
From sunrise to sunset
We will by then would have met

An empty void is now complete
Awaiting the day we will meet
Kiss you once and I'll know
That this was not just for show

Until then we wait in the time between
