This is how the heart gets hollow
a tearful drink and a pill to swallow
don't take her hands all covered in bruises
and ask if she still sings

Nights still burn her memory
now blank stares to the ground
just as no one blames the house fire
once an arsonist is found

So I drank.

I drank and he was
He showed me love
Love that knew no bias
Hate was a myth living in swamps and dotted on the lips of kings as war, a farie tale for kids only make believe
Here they were simply creatures
under my bed who asked nicely to come out for attention
Who he was I do not know, for God was missing
Only God could create a love as this
Who was he that laid the stars bare before me and asked only that I embrace and feel all that I could
Connected to this would around me
Who was he that gave me this love
Who was he that let me feel
Who was he that completed
Who was he

So I drank.
