ONE NIGHT I WILL REMEMBER
Shreyash Parekh Feb 2019
I don’t feel like walking into that bar again
Cause the last time it left me in vain,
I tried hard to remove that stain
But its deep in my brain.

I had just walked into the bar and called for some shots
And the people next to me started judging my dressing
and my choice for dots.

I overheard a few saying look how she’s drinking and how girls these days have no shame,
But I just thought it was lame.
We’ve been brought up in households where men are not to be blamed
Even though its their game.

As I was sitting two men came and squeezed into the space near me,
I felt uncomfortable and asked them to make space,
But instead they started to play with my top lace.

I screamed loudly but the music was too loud
I looked up with pitiful eyes at those men who looked like a cloud
But they weren’t looking at my face
They were interested in my lace.

They squeezed me between them and took me in the corner
It was supposed to be much more quite here but it couldn’t just cause they had a *****!
I had taken enough, I wasn’t gonna take anymore
As my 5 year old daughter started to make calls
So I kicked them in the *****.

I continued until I wasn’t satisfied cause isn’t that called a fabulous night?
Somehow that day I saved my self but I was surely molested in broad light
People nearby wouldn’t even help
But I didn’t bother as they will know how it felt
When it will be someone from their belt!!

The Proposal
Shreyash Parekh Feb 2019
That moment when I walked up to her wearing a smile on my face
And tried to show confidence but evidently was scared from head to lace
She was standing on the stage in the middle of her performance
While the audience waited for mine.

She was wearing a black top even without make up she looked so beautiful!
I walked up to her slyly, looked at her and smiled,
The music faded and she was confused
She knew something was going on but she had no clue.

Standing there in front of her
I couldn’t stop thinking about the future
I already had plans to nurture.
I just didn’t know what to say
I needed the right words today
Everything was in my head all jumbled
I didn’t care and I just mumbled.

“If a day goes by where I can’t see your face
Or feel our hearts in a close embrace,
I would embark on a worldwide chase
And marry you so we were in the same place.

Here I am on bent knee,
For years this scene I tried to flee
Then I met you and it was clear to me
To be complete you must BE WITH ME!

I thought I had a pretty good life,
Plenty of friends, and lots of stuff.
Then I met you, and saw the strife
Of being alone—it’s kind of rough.
Make me better—be my wife.
I’m really sweet, it’s my act that’s tough.

I know I haven’t been the perfect person,
And I know I haven’t treated you as a queen.
But all I want to do right now is run around carrying you,
But before that by marrying you!

The stars in the sky,
Match the sparkle in your eye.
Love starts with a dance,
Then blooms into romance.
If two become one,
It’s a lot more fun.
My request is simply:
Will you please marry me?”

I pulled out my ancestral ring and she burst into tears
The ring looked so beautiful on her hand
It seemed like my castle on sand.
Hugs and kisses were just the cherry toppings,
But such happiness can never be bought even till coffins.

The audience applauded and wailed happily
Our relationship just moved up rapidly!
It wasn’t gonna be easy but not that hard,
Because I now have my kryptonite shard!
