Scared to trust
Sherri Harder Jun 2015
I do not trust many people because I am afraid
of how they can punch me in the head if they ever get mad.
I do not know what some people are capable of.
Mean abusive people make me sad.
Trust is earned through time but can be broken.
Who can you really trust and why.
A battle in my heart I cry.

I am not lonely
Sherri Harder Jun 2015
I am not lonely when I am alone
I am more lonely when I am with
people that lie and cause each other pain.
Please don't take my love in vain.
I am not lonely and can feel relief.
I am not lonely cause I have the option
to leave.

The Butterfly
Sherri Harder Jun 2015
The butterfly once bore the darkness of its past fate.
It changes slowly from cocoon to a better state.
A change in time and ethereal.
So captivating beauty, and so surreal.
Like a bird begins to sing.
As so does this butterfly begin to spread its wings.

This too shall pass
Sherri Harder Jun 2015
One more poem, another rhyme.
One more moment out of time.
Memories clear yet some behind.
A part of me needs to unwind.
Sailing, drifting out somewhere.
To escape some nightmare.
To control the dreams I think.
Finding solstice on the brink.
Day time, night time comes again.
Ignore the bad times and the pain.
So when the monsters draw so near.
I feel the angels closer here.
Praying, fighting, amongst the wicked mass.
Knowing, feeling, 'This too shall pass.'

I am Me
Sherri Harder Jun 2015
I may not be perfect, but I sure know who I am.
I may not always look my best nor like a model
out of Glam.
I may not have been the perfect child that
in school was studious.
I did my own thing into sports and
hobbies, like my writing and thought -
how prodigious.
I may not always seem so humble even though
I should.
I know I have so many options in life and wonder
what would work or could.
I sometimes feel too much or think too much,
and need to take a break.
My mind gets tired of regrets to those
things I could never make.
I sometimes break apart from what I usually do.
Like isolating myself alone and not talking,
because I'm tired and can get depression too.
I am me and wish some saw the deeper side
of me--if only some could see.
The side that isn't always strong or tough,
but the inner soul of hey ... " I am me."

Set me free
Sherri Harder Jun 2015
I want to run and be set free
of this ****** world closing in on me.
I want to soar like an eagle or dove.
Then once again am reminded of His love.
Set me free Lord I humbly pray.
Set me free from these burdens
through night and day.

This world we live in
Sherri Harder Jun 2015
We live in a world so blinded by distractions
we don't want to see.
When will enough be enough so we can learn
to fly so free.
To soar like the eagle and truly know
what is.
To feel love, to feel more like a gentle kiss.

We live in a world with hunger, with homeless
poverty.
When will we see a way to help those more
unfortunate than we.
We the ones not living there that we have managed
to escape.
to help those in need and of emotional pain
and ****.

We live in a world full of hate, resentment,
and fear.
When will we show them what is needed
for them to hear.
For I write to you these words from in my
heart therin,
please help to do our parts-to care,
for this is the world we live in.

Poetic Honesty
Sherri Harder Jun 2015
A poets heart is truth from what we feel inside.
Its not a game to play where we feel pride.
We might feel more than others and deeply
care from within our hearts.
We express so openly and honest and want
to share some of these heartfelt thoughts.
You may not always like what one of us has to actually say.
It may sound good, it may sound sad, but for
those that hate, I pray.
My heart is full of so much love and want to share
with you.
That one day when life is over here, I know God
will see me through.
So when these days are finally over and all on earth
here is done.
I will cherish every moment knowing God's battle--
He hath already won.
To you the reader, we have a legacy of what we
leave  hopefully not sounding like a bunch
of nerds.
We have an honesty about us to let you know
what we feel from inside and describe it
poetically with words.
So if you ever want the truth and ever doubt things I say that make you sad or cry.
Please feel like you can ask me what I feel, and in a poem
maybe learn the truth and why.

To see through the disguise
Sherri Harder May 2015
He comes to me with gentle whispers
in my ear and softly runs his fingers
through mine hair.
He gently kisses my lips and feel his
breath pressing against me like being
caught up in a lair.
His body presses against mine as
he whispers "you are mine."
As my body tingles with his touch
I snap out of it in time.
While his fingers start moving down,
seeking for more.
I realize he wants to go further than we ever
have before.
As he whispers " baby I love you" and " I always will
be there."  He tries to ****** me with his gentle touch
as I pull away and stare.
He looks into mine eyes with a yearning plea
and says " please let me make you feel good."
I tell him "I have to say goodbye" as I know
I should.
I tell him " I don't believe you and I see through
your disguise."
I say " if only I didn't know what I knew now....I might
actually believe those lies."
He starts to get angry and I see a nasty glare up in
his eyes.
He shouts " baby I just need you" as he starts
to cry.
I walk away...
to see through the disguise.
Sherri Harder May 2015
Raindrops beating like a heartbeat
feeling.
Thunder roars like a door slamming;
reeling.
Rhythmically dancing through the
dark,
as the lightening sounds remark.

As I lay in bed dreaming in the
night.
Knowing everything will be
alright.
Time seems to stand still as to
what I'm seeing.
So liberating and so freeing.

It's like a new adventure
for me.
To dream, to understand as to what
I see.
In my mind, it's like a whole new
thrill.
In my body, I feel a cool vibe
or chill.

Lightening flashes with streaks of
light.
Thunder roars one last time
with strength and might.
Casting shadows on the
wall.
Tress sway outside but dare not
fall.

I awaken for only a short
while.
Then I fall asleep again with a
gentle smile.
Knowing what I feel is perfect and
true.
Only peace inside casts its colored
hue.
Like a rainbow in the soul of
time.
Like a paper reaches pen
to rhyme.

Back to a place where I dare
to see what is truly there that
doeth not fright.
A place that brings me freedom
in my soul to see the sun hath
beckoned me by morn to write.

When I am lost....
Sherri Harder Jan 2015
When I am lost and all else seems to fail,
you are the strength in me to gently sail.
When at times I am sad or lost,
you give me light-like sunshine to frost.
In darkest hours to a long hard day,
I turn to you as I kneel down to pray.
You give me shelter from the storms at night.
I know you're there watching over with your love so bright.
When I am lost I know there are angels watching over me.
Through the times so hard to see.
When I am lost there is only you.
Guiding me and seeing me through.

Along thine winter's path
Sherri Harder Nov 2014
Once upon a time in the land of snow,
where snow-drifts hang like cliffs and icicles do grow.
Along thine winter's path, like a child out to play.
The air so fresh, and sunlight sparkles; what a lovely day.
Along thine winter's path, the trees majestic in blankets of white.
The stars shine through like magic ***** of light.
Along thine winter's path so crisp and serene.
Along thine winter's path, a winter-wonderland scene.
Along thine winter's path, memories so clear.
Along thine winter's path, no shadows and no fear.
To see children sledding down a hill playing so care free.
Along thine winter's path with snow light sparking, I long to see.
Along thine winter's path, with mittens, gloves, and scarves,
lending a helping hand.
Along thine winter's path I write, this winter poem now
hath come to say...The End.

Why Do We Trust?
Sherri Harder Nov 2014
Why do we open up and share
our thoughts so free?
When people lie, and betray the trust
that was never really meant to be.
Why do we choose to give,
when all but most do take?
We are vulnerable to play the victim,
and they think we're the ones are fake.
They hurt with deception and hide between
their disguise.
For what they tell you is far from truth and
covered up with lies.
For seduction can seem like beauty,
rose petals and white lace.
What is really going on is like arsenic
poisoning trying to **** with just a trace.
Why do we trust some people and open up
our lives to some?
When we have no reason to trust, what
have to us succumb?
Why do we take vows and choose to trust?
When all most think about is far from love,
but really lust.
Why do we forgive and some do not?
Why do we trust?  Are we sold out?
Are we bought?

Strength
Sherri Harder Oct 2014
Strength is getting back up
when life knocks you down.
learning to cope when all you have
is a frown.
Strength is learning to fly in the dark
when there is no flame.
When all else fails, but someone
whispers your name.
Strength is not being scared
when things get tough.
Its learning to cry, hurt, and still
find the humour when people
are rough.
Strength isn't giving up hope and
always saying goodbye like a passing
lesson or two.
Strength is sticking through, and standing
by with possibilities too.
Nothing is easy and some run away
with fear.
Strength is standing your ground
and saying despite differences,
you'll always be there.
Strength is not always how much muscle
you have or how much you train.
It is having courage to be strong
even through pain.

Free to be me
Sherri Harder Oct 2014
I was running from the cold
scared to follow my heart or dare
chase a dream.
Never wanting to be told
what they thought of me
or what things might seem.
Living in the shadows
yet trying to catch a glimpse of
light shining through a part of me.
The part that wants to let go.
Running through the meadows
with my pen out,
like wild horses so young and free.

Don't be scared to open your eyes.
Things are not always easy if you
hold back the tears.
Its ok to be careful, but in the end you'll
never know how it could've felt unless
you do what you can do and stop
living through the fears.

Letting go of the struggles that I
once thought of and being able to cry and feel.
Love for something inside that's burning
inside of me.
Learning how to let go to, rhyming with my
heart and soul so free.
like drumming to a new beat, dancing in the rain,
to my poetry.

Its in my heart, its in my soul.
I've rediscovered that I can be free to
be me!

Symphony in the sky
Sherri Harder Oct 2014
Looking up at the sky so beautiful tonight.
Feeling so much love in this time and space
so right.
The symphony plays of harmonious chords,
while writing my thoughts with poetical words.
Seeing the stars twinkle like diamonds of
jewellery.
Sparkling, magical, feeling happy.
Wish this feeling would stay and never end.
As the sky drapes its paintings of orchestras,
beauty, to lend.

From one poet to another
Sherri Harder Oct 2014
We poets write what's on our mind
and in our heart.
To us it comes naturally, never questioning
it. To us its art.
To every curve we feel the pen stroking
on the paper wall,
like a dancer swaying in rhythm and to
dare not fall.
From one poet to another, we have a common
courtesy for most.
We either love it or we don't or can share it
playing host.
We appreciate each others differences and
poetic style.
Even when we disagree, we never argue,
as we smile.
From one poet to another, we can feel ones
pain and joy.
Though we never knock each other down
or do no harm employ.
From one poet to another, its a way of
sharing what's in our soul.
Whether it be good or bad, we respect each other
for simply sharing and letting go.
We can write about most anything like nature, love,
pain, art, or rock.
The worst thing from one poet to another, is a thing
called "writer's block."
So when we take the time to very publically; to
from our depths do share.
Its a way of sharing a piece of our minds like a
a window to our soul declare.
Even though we may hide away from
time to time.
It's because we're always thinking and
reflect on past experiences to rhyme.
Most of us are pretty social and can
be artistic in other ways.
Like music, dancing, singing or
acting and directing  plays.
We choreograph our feelings out
and lay them out as words of art.
Sharing to others to enjoy a piece
of our life that taketh part.
We don't always say things out loud
properly and publically.
We are sometimes better writing in what we
do best- in written poetry.
From one poet to another, we know some get it
or they don't.
Most poets will because they can disect it
or they won't.
From one poet to another, we know we
don't always have to rhyme our word.
I prefer to write in rhyme, but when I don't-
other poets don't think its absurd.
From one poet to another, we write our
feelings, thoughts and beliefs with ease.
From one poet to another, for some its
a masterpiece.

To those that dwell on sadness
and think of hurt and pain.
What really makes you sad?
Are you sure its not all in vain?
To the one whose partner left them,
is he or she worth the agony and strife,
If they could not appreciate you and
accept you in their life?
To the teens rebelling and behaving
like a brat.
Do you really know why your like this?
Your game is getting old, to you no one wants to chat.
To the ones drowning in their sorrows and beer
down at the local bar.
Please be careful after and don't you dare
get behind the wheel in your car.
To the young ones dabbling in and getting high off illegal drugs.
Better smarten up and kick the habit so you don't
wind up like street thugs.
To the ones crying suicide and "watch me cut my wrist."
Maybe think of what your doing.
Is it really worth the risk?
To the stranger in the club that thinks
talking ***** will get me with him in bed.
You are obviously delusional, I'd rather kiss
a frog instead.
To the woman that gets abused
better leave before its too late.
Some are not as lucky as I've been.
Some don't get to choose their fate.
To the lonely souls out their crying all the time
why they think their life should end.
Just remember you have options.
You can allow Jesus in your heart that leads
to a path that will mend.
So to everyone that's listening, to this I say...
there's more to life than heartache,
"just don't give up so easily", I pray.
We always have a choice and one
is always grim.
Don't you think that you deserve
one that isn't dim?
There aretwo roads to follow.
Which one will you choose?
One way leads to happiness and the other
you will lose.
To those that are depressed and homesick
and do miss.
My heart goes out to those that have a heart.
I hope you soon find true comfort, joy and bliss.
So to those that are suffering, you see
you don't have to raise your voice.
To those suffering, you have a choice.

Thanksgiving
Sherri Harder Sep 2014
Thanksgiving is a time we are thankful
for what we've got.
For the food on the table and what
harvest hath brought.
Thanksgiving to some is  a cold,
autumn day.
Yet to be thankful quietly they
say.
Thanksgiving is remembered usually
with gourds, leaves, and turkey dinners.
Praising God even as sinners.
The wine is poured and some drink up.
Just remember who fills your cup.
Thanksgiving is time to be happy
and a time to celebrate.
Memories of mother saying.." come for dinner-
don't be late."
The table set and people feast and dine.
As one says.." pour me another glass of wine."
"Cheers to all and another year of shelter, clothes,
and food to eat."  Yells one.
Harvest time hath been good, but still isn't
quite done.
Thanksgiving is more than that to me.
I'm thankful for God's blessings everyday-
I see.
Its more than food and a pumpkin pie,
latte, or cake.
Its about the love that Jesus brings for
what is real and not fake.
He died and rose again for our sins,
and another year is almost through.
Thanksgiving is a way of reflecting the past
and be thankful for what's new.
I took a walk one thanksgiving afternoon and
saw a poor man begging for at least a dime.
His clothes were worn out, and I gave him
a dollar and a rhyme.
He smiled at me and said..."Bless your soul,
I wish more cared like you." he cries.
As I walk away I notice a teardrop in his
eyes.
Thanksgiving is a time when we should be more
than thankful than one day, but to have a loving heart.
Be thankful for what each day brings and not just one day
in the year that taketh part.

Don't Be Weary
Sherri Harder Sep 2014
Do not grow weary when someone puts you down.
Do not fear and please don't frown.
You are worth more than diamonds or gold.
Learn to grow and love will hold.
Learn to smile through the rain,
for time will heal all your pain.
Scars and bruises washed away from a bully's snare.
Ignore drama from the evil glare.
When life seems cold, don't harden your heart.
Look to God, for he won't part.
If you trust in Him and don't run a stray,
He will brighten up your day.
Don't be weary for too long,
keep on writing your own song.
Learn to sing and learn to dance,
doesn't matter who is better, just take a stance.
Let me help you through the tears.
Take a stand against your fears.
Like a love song so tranquil through the land,
Jesus longs to hold your hand.

Poetically Eidetic
Sherri Harder Sep 2014
My life is an autobiography.
I hate monsters and biology.
I like dance and song.
rhythm keeps me strong.
My heart is like a non-stop battery
going up and down
and re-charging steadily.
Eyes are like a hawk piercing through time
coordination is an instrument tuned to rhyme.
Memory sharp and so eidetic.
Focusing on the beauty, calling me to be poetic.
Visiting the past.
Some things never last.
The day in the life of I.
Sometimes I had to do my best or try.
Still here
not there.
Vacation time is done
The battle I have won.
Learning to overcome
from the things that bring me down I run.
Overall my life was blessed.
I don't dwell on the negative yet in God I rest.

Dreaming of Spring
Sherri Harder Sep 2014
I recall the beauty of a warm, spring day
and the sound of birds singing in the month of May.
I dream of flowers and streams nearby
and the clear, blue, hypnotic, dazzling sky.
I can almost remember the scent of daffodils in the air,
with green meadows around, all seems fair.
Lost is the gravity of the hands of time,
as I dream of springtime in another rhyme.
Sherri Harder Sep 2014
Fast, windy, noisy,
such as the wind at sea.
light, wispy, fluttering,
as a bird to be.
frantically, busily, swaying
are the leaves blowing in the air
as the storm briskly rolls through
just like a running stallion or mare
last raindrops drip and
trinkle down,
like little trinkets to the ground.
As darkness leaves and
now is bright
from dark to grey and now clouds white.
From thunderous claps and echo's gone.
A rainbow prevails as this painting's dawn.
A new day gone and another sigh'
with a poetic painting 'the storm gone by'

I got back up
Sherri Harder Sep 2014
With every lie you said about me,
I didn't slander your name back.
With every piece of childish gossip
I heard- I moved on and back on track.
With the jealous rage and anger that
you put a scar upon my head,
I pulled myself back up to carry on
one day to find awaking in a hospital bed.
I was foolish to even trust you,
and shed too many tears in vain.
I found myself one day when I
decided not to go through that again.
I got back up and carried on with a new
vow and lease on life.
That I would never trust completely
and not take any more abuse or strife.
I got back up and on my own
I came out on top unscathed
For that battle is done and finished
and a new way I have paved.
I am not alone when by myself
nor darkness or anything rise against me anymore.
For I am still here as I got back up
and have God with me to walk that shore.

Win the Battle!
Sherri Harder Sep 2014
When life gets you down,
stand tall, don't frown.
It doesn't really matter what
other people say,
as long as you, trust in the Lord and
faithfully pray.
When you see sorrow, sadness,
and pain,
keep marching ahead,
"It is finished."  Jesus said.
He died and rose again
from the cross for your salvation.
Don't ever let the lies of the devil
bring you down to die with his damnation.
Life is a war for your mind, and Satan
will try to battle,
God loves you as his child,
so don't let your mind rattle.
Satan can transform himself like
a rose, and back like a snake.
Don't be fooled with thoughts
of self-loathing, doubt and hate.
This poem is not about me,
but feel compelled to write this.
To those that are struggling, lost,
and sad do not take these words to dis.
Your life is of value, more than money
and gold.
Stay true to yourself, don't bow to the devil
and fold.
The devil will lie and in lies about in who
you are sell,
Don't get caught in the trap of the serpent
and wind up in hell.
Win the battle!

Break down the wall
Sherri Harder Sep 2014
We've all been hurt and
some tell us  a lie.
It makes me want to  lay down
and cry.
Then I think of the ones that
have been by my side,
We learn to trust a few at a time
and take it in stride.
We see each other at times, stumble,
and fall.
Sooner or later, we slowly, yet surely
break down a wall,
when we learn to trust and
in Christ follow.
It helps us to become less shallow,
and hollow.
For love and forgiveness is
God's caring way,
and to those that struggle with this-
for them I pray.

His Protection

With predators on the prowl

I am protected by His armour

I have His protection day and night

I'm in a race with time
trying to find
what was lost
is now mine
a peace of mind.
I am free

Nothing to hide
nothing to fear

light is here
yet I hear
like horses galloping,
wings soaring,
and dolphins chatting
I am free

I see
but do not
dreams forgot
the thrill the rush
an escape from
night and day
I need to see
all of me
and be free

death dying gone
back again
wrong

Summer Night Breeze
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
Walking down the road at night with the
lights dancing through the breeze.
Trees swaying, casting shadows
like a flirtatious whisper or a tease.
Summer perfumed scent so
captivating.
Chills go through me, so
invigorating.
Oh summer night is here.

Train rhythm
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
For the train goes by so fast
full steam ahead.
The engine powerfully in charge with the box cars
being led.
The conductor blows the horn
as its coming around the bend.
As the conductor yells " I hope there
ain't nothing in the way,  for some things
I cannot mend. "
As he grins and sips his coffee listening to another
"chug-a-chug-a-choo-choo,"  he thinks of things he's
seen gone by and remembers with nostalgia,
boo-hoo.
As the train will soon approach with the sound of
rolling wheels on the track,
like a rhythm of a song as it sings
"clickity-clack, clickity-clack."
The box-cars roll and caboose will
trail,
while the engine slows and does not
fail.
Time to help the passengers off with their
luggage and their cases.
Then another trip departs soon from the station
as its engine speeds up and races.

Reflections of Fire
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
Reflections of fire in the mirror I caught in
the eye to look.
A warm feeling came over me, just like a
romance setting from a book.
Reflections of fire in my mind, could be
a metaphor of lost love.
A burning passion that lost its spark,
like a worn out leather glove.
Reflections of fire make me yearn for
a sense of serenity.
For reflections of fire that burn
is not mine true destiny.

For Jesus Loves Me
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
For Jesus loves me,
I will always know,
and with Him I will
surely grow.
For He will help me through
mine many fears,
and He will wipe away so
many tears.
For Jesus loves me like
a father holds his child's hand.
My faith in Him,
I take a stand.
To Him I'll always and
sincerely pray,
from within my soul and heart
I say.
For Jesus loves me and
also you.
I pray you'll have salvation
too. For He watches over me
in sight,
as I think of His love with
another poem I write.

A Ship through the Storm
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
Ships like phantoms
lost at sea.
Waves are crashing,
tumbling free.
Lightning striking, dazzling,
bolting.
Thunder rumbling, growling,
jolting.
The clouds slowly drift away
at ease.
A rainbow appears with a
feeling of peace.
The ship was rocking, now
sways gently close to shore.
The lighthouse beams its light
once more.

Winter
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
The cool winter air leaves
a trace of frost.
To remind us that warm summer
nights are now lost.
For the leaves are raked and
off the ground.
Cold, beauty,silence, and
barely a sound.
  Soon snow will sway so
peacefully.
The Christmas lights glitter
so beautifully.

Autumn
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
Cool, misty, autumn air.
Harvest time and fall fair.
Leaves of orange, yellow, red.
Unspoken beauty left unsaid.
  Darker nights are coming too.
No more summer skies of blue.
Still many a splendor sights to see.
To watch leaves sway so peacefully.

An Angel
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
Just when I thought
that I couldn't go on,
through God you help me
and I don't come undone.

  When I get into troubles
I know you are there,
to guide me through
and not to fear.

An angel watching
out for me,
even though I
do not see.

"Oh Lord" I cry,
"I know your here"
as you help make my
path clear.

Watching out for me
is an angel sent by you Lord,
faithfully by my side.

The Fork in the Path
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
There are shadows,
where there is light,
and darkness when
all seems bright.
A sense of good, where
there is bad.
Better to see through it,
than to be had.
Piercing eyes and hypnotic
stares.
Fighting off the evil
glares.
The mind can see what the
eyes do not,
and to win I cannot
be bought.
There is no price or quote to say
that in them will I believe.
Only to know I'm strong and feel sorry
for those that are lost and naive.
I go to bed at night with a peace inside
my soul.
That forever I will be true to God
and to see what I am to know.
Strong willed and strong mind I cannot
be moved by the one that goads.
I look ahead and see a fork in the path,
they are two totally different roads.
I stop and look to see one that so many take and
many follow.
I think its best to take the one with less,
that seems narrow and less shallow.
For in the end all I need is here
and always will be.
For He is always love and truth and I know
that Jesus is the one that loves me.

Insensative
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
How come when people cry,
others that see them just keep walking by?
Where is heart and where is soul?
Is it a lost art and no more a goal?
Some may have hidden their pain inside,
with bitter, angry foolish pride.
Maybe they are fatherless or grew up poor,
maybe they are ill, resentful and sore.
Why do some hit, hurt and lie?
Why do some not even care to question why?
Scars and bruises wither away,
to see the light of a new day.
Why do some not care in an age so informative?
Maybe some are just too insensitive.

Under the Moonlit Sky
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
Moonlight serenades the dimly night lit sky
with a shade of deep, dark blue.
It reflects a sparkle on the lake at night
with a dazzling, misty hue.

The scent of pine so rich and
captivating me the most.
The beauty in the nature
with the moonlight playing
heavenly host.

Sitting by the campfire listening to
the crackling sound.
The flames dance under the moonlight as I sit
on the earthen ground.

The stars are twinkling, shining so
brightly under the sky at night,
with the beauty of the moon
so bright.

Looking up at the sky and all the
beauty so far up above.
I am at peace to feel God's
never ending love.

So as I sit here in awe at His creation
and never question why.
I know I am a child of God,
under the moonlit sky.

I will
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
I will try to stay optimistic today.
I will seek God with love and pray.
I will not let others bring me down.
I will rise against and smile without a frown.
I will not fall, yet I will stand.
I will hold on to Jesus's hand.
I will not quit and I will fight.
I will pray and hold on to what is right.
I will in the Lord forever in Him hail.
I will survive and will prevail!

Serenity
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
Dark and lonely
no one knows,
yet in the dark there is
a light that glows.

  Like an angel watching
and a sense of peace.
No more sadness,
now to feel at ease.

  Like a true friend that
will warm your heart,
or a true love forever,
never to part.

  Like a poem, song,
or melody.
A tender air filled with serenity.

Summer Storm
Sherri Harder Aug 2014
A young girl sways back and forth ecstatically
in a rustic, creaking chair,
with the peaceful country setting and
summer, scented air.
The evening sky turned dark with the sound
of alarming fear.
The clouds briskly rolled through with a
tremble to the ear.
Running through patio doors wide open
as she saw light dance across the lake.
Flashes of lightening caught the eye,
while she watched the heavens
awake.

Spring
Sherri Harder May 2014
Gentle breezes like the morning wind,
whispers softly on my skin.
The sun approaches in the sky,
eagles soaring as they fly.
Mountains all around and a valley down below,
spring is drawing nearer as flowers start to grow.
