Teeth
Resist the ever-changing scenes of life and us and where we’ve been. The hope you gave on broken glass, it’s one step forward to one new ****. Apologies, I asked for none and yet the bell it must be rung before the distance I can run. Before the final song is sung. A bitter sweet ode to you that melts the icy, broken news. Like broken limbs forever set into distorted shapes we left. It troubles me that you’re inside, within my dreams and raging mind. A part of you I can’t escape and, in the scars, I see your face. Could it be the same with you, a part of me just chewing through? A hope that nothing stays the same while deep inside my teeth remain.

Gears
Giant moving gears we are, replacements parts for someone’s past. Shiny metal, stainless steel. Some of us are chromed to heal. Some of us are rusted through and nothing sticks but grease and glue. Broken pieces all as one, we make it work, we make it run. Glitter white your coat is new but beneath we know it’s you, we know your parts are slightly used and that’s okay, my parts are too.
