In Kabul’s streets, where war once raged,
Women’s footsteps echo, undismayed.
Through rubble and dust, they pave the way,
For a brighter future, a new day.
With hearts ablaze, they stand firm and strong,
Their courage and love, a beacon all day long.
They tend the wounds, they nurture and guide,
And sow the seeds of peace, side by side.
The harsh winds howl, the bravest flee in fear,
But women stand tall, their hearts held dear.
They weave together fragments of their past,
Creating a tapestry of love that will forever last.
Their smiles illuminate the darkest night,
Their laughter a balm, a healing light.
This once-battleground, now a haven blooms,
Where hope and peace take root, and love resumes.
In gardens tended with care and might,
Flowers bloom, a vibrant, colorful sight.
Children’s laughter echoes, pure and free,
A new generation, full of hope, can see.
Their hands, once bound, now hold the reins,
Empowered, they lead, with hearts that sustain.
Their voices, once silenced, now ring out clear,
A chorus of strength, that dispels all fear.
In this sweet land, women are the light,
Guardians of tomorrow, shining bright.
Their bravery and strength, a story to be told,
A testament to the human spirit, young and old.
With every step, they claim their space,
And turn the page, to a brighter place.
Their resilience, a beacon in the night,
Guiding others, to a future full of light.
Though words may sting, and names may wound,
They bring us joy, and love that’s found.
Life’s challenges ease, with them by our side,
They make us forget, and bring a fresh tide.
With every dawn, they bring new light,
And fill our hearts, with pure delight.
They make life richer, and more divine,
A gift to us, a treasure so fine.
On this special day, we celebrate you,
With love, respect, and admiration true.
May your strength be honored, your hearts be light,
Happy Women’s Day, shining stars of might!
I wrote this poem as a tribute to the strength, resilience, and beauty of women everywhere. Inspired by the courage and determination of women in Afghanistan, this poem celebrates their ability to thrive in the face of adversity and to bring hope and light to those around them. On Women's Day and every day, I honor the incredible women in my life and around the world who inspire me with their love, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
