Our illogical irony
Sarah s May 2020
Chained to liberation,
Freed from hesitation.

Living for the last breath,
Breathing for the next moment.

Addicted to sobriety,
A new drug,
Called reality.

“Chaotic peace”.
A safe war they say.
Bombing for peace,
just like ******* for virginity.

We find allure within the havoc we sow,
A heavenly darkness and we call it beautiful.

Us human beings will never be satisfied,
Clinging to devastation,
whilst trying to justify it.

We live in our illogical irony,
We are flawed creatures,
But even worse,
We are stubbornly arrogant.

Betrayal.
Sarah s Apr 2020
Betrayal is the closest friend
and the most eager lover.
It is the perfect cover,
but the greediest lender.
It’ll take your time,
And every last dime,
Keep you up sometimes,
Till you hear the clock chime.

Shimmering in the dark
Sarah s Apr 2020
Fragile tears
Shimmering in the dark.

Pain is like a gentle kiss from life.
Descending into its lullaby,
You feel warmth in its numbness.

How much I care,
Is so very much rare
So why put me in such despair

A constant battle,
Falling into darkness
Exploding into light.

Thriving stars,
Shimmering in the dark

Mornings next to you
Sarah s Apr 2020
Sunlight escapes through the curtains
Your hair messy,
Your voice raspy.

Your face alive
with laughter and tears,
Aching with joy.

You like crystal,
shine through haze
And sparkle,
along with the daze.

Like a soft lantern
you shine through my shadow
and overtake it with glow.

A chaotic soul,
With a warm embrace.

A hurt heart,
Full of love.

You smell of,
wild freedom
and look of,
Bright starry nights.
Sarah s Apr 2020
Ghostly kisses.
Barely remembered
But,
Never forgotten.

Chaotic minds.
Within walls of glass
And locks of steel.

Numbered pages.
Empty words
On blank paper.

With you.
Heaviness of woes,
trickles off like water.
Turning the darkest tears,
Into a,
Passion of suffering.

My ruins,
bloom in your smile.

My ache,
illuminates like lightning
Making you,
my thunder.

Crystal debris,
A glint in your eye,
Like Saturn in the midnight sky.

Like water...
Sarah s Apr 2020
Like water,
She brings utter chaos with her every wave
Like water,
she is the reason silence is so peaceful
And stillness so beautiful
Like water,
She seems so clear
but she’s distorted in more ways than u think
Like water,
You need her,
no matter how long you avoid her.
Like water,
She’s the most peaceful disaster
To happen to you
Like water
She shimmers in the moonlight
And sparkles in the sunlight

Modern loneliness
Sarah s Apr 2020
Modern loneliness is ironic,
We all feel it,
At the same time,
even when we’re together.

We will always be lonely people
In a lonely world,
under a lonely sky,
full of lonely stars.

We will never be able to starve the loneliness within us
We can only hope that through the company of others
We can mute it’s presence.
And hope it doesn’t devour us.

An inevitable defeat.

A holy sin
Sarah s Apr 2020
The sound of your voice
could silence my demons
And make my angles cry

Your touch makes my skin shed tears of gold

Your smell brings life to,
forgotten memories

You, like chaos,
are an angel that fell in love with a demon.

a holy sin.

We are….
Sarah s Apr 2020
Shining stars hidden beneath flesh,
We are.
Just like two sides of the same moon,

Specks of light in an ocean of dark.
We are.

We are moments, we are blinks.
Soak in every tiny piece of beauty in life.
absorb it, become it, then as gently as we came,
let it all go.

WORTH IT ALL
Sarah s Apr 2020
Your skin,
Sun kissed
a reminder of all the summer days
we spent together.

Face covered in freckles,
a beautiful constellation,
you are.

Like string caught in a  breeze,
Your hair, a toy for the wind.

Your eyes carry a twinkle,
Of mischief or happiness.
I do not know which,
Probably both.

I look into your eyes
An ocean of honey,
swirling with joy.

You soothe the anger within me
Through your every word.
And,
Calm the raging sea within me
Through your every smile.

You take me to the heavens of oblivion,
with your every touch.

pain never hurt me the way love did.
But regret,
Regret is worse.

and you are worth the risk.

UP AND AWAY
Sarah s Apr 2020
Away from loud noise,
away from bright nights,
away from tall buildings,
away from city lights.

up and away,
forget the reasons
that force you to stay.

Back to the wild forests
Wander and roam,
reinvent your world,
The forest
you once knew as home.

Stay up with the stars,
Talking to the moon,
smiling to the memories
Laughing to my stories

Roam your past like you roam the forest,
Wild and free.

Sarah s Apr 2020
if i am the night, you are the day
if i am the moon you must be my sun
if i am the night sky you must be the stars
if i am the ocean you must be the shore
if i am the past you must be my future
if i am sorrow, you must be the joy
if i am war, you are the peace
if i am blue you are my yellow

You do to me what spring does to winter,
i melt in your embrace,
let my fears blossom into flowers,
and let my doubts rain over the fields.

You do to me what fall does to summer,
you turn my head into a forest of colours.
Bright and light,
every little thought like a leaf turning
yellow
orange
red
A colourful world.

Like snow on mid December,
you glisten from every angle
and sparkle with your every snowflake.

You are what seasons do to each other,
and the harmony of the ocean and its shore.
You are a snowflake,
beautiful and sparkling.

You are my end and beginning.
Sarah s Apr 2020
I have become a mere echo,
like all echos,
I just fade away.

No matter how loud I scream,
It only makes it so far,
And comes back to me.

Into the depth of my cave.

Seasons
Sarah s Apr 2020
The sweet smell of summer
The light breeze of fall
The cloudless pink skies,
Remind me of spring.
However my heart stays as cold as
A frosty winter morning.

First and last
Sarah s Apr 2020
To the one who loves him next,
Know he loves blindly,
Know he loves deeply,
Do not take advantage.

To the one who loves him next,
Know he finds peace in silence,
And hope in laughter.

To the one who loves him next,
Know when he thinks,
he’s immersed within doubt.
Listen to him speak,
You’ll hear a wise man chained within peoples words.

To the one who loves him next,
Know he disappears at times,
Know he turns cold,
don’t ask where he goes,
Just let him melt in your warm embrace.

To the one who loves him next,
Do not try to understand him,
You’ll lose yourself, within a maze full of roses.

To the one who loves him next,
Know you love him now,
But I loved him first
And will love him…last.

A RAINY TRIP RIDE
Sarah s Apr 2020
A train
runs through the rain
Rain drops
Tears of the angels,
Like diamonds from heaven.

Fear and doubt.
Happiness and joy
Bliss and ecstasy

waves of feelings that crash onto the shore
of the mind, and drown the heart.

The green of the hills
A mere blur
Like a past I cannot remember.

Gods blessing.
Sarah s Apr 2020
Feel the sand underneath your feet and,
The ocean breeze against your wet cheeks
Let your tears fill the ocean,
listening closely to the whisper of the waves,
For they carry secrets of the past and present
And heavy unspoken sorrows.

You remind me of the ocean, clear at the top
Yet,
The deeper you go the darker you get.
Beautiful, like an afternoon on the ocean.

A blindfolded fool.
Sarah s Apr 2020
Arms of comfort and reassurance can change,
Quite quickly.
clinging with a new purpose.
Regardless though, I shall fall into your arms,
with faith in the goodness I had seen such time ago.
Blindfolded, I will wait for your warm embrace.
Blindfolded, I will wait for the caress of your delicate fingers.

There is no substitute for the unmatched craving of
another soul.
So please,
Try.

Open my heart, with force and might
for it’s hinges may be rusty,
Like an abandoned home.
and let in the gust
of hope and love,
to fill this empty heart.
To give life to the darkness within me.

Do not leave me here
Blindfolded, with arms wide open
Waiting for what will not come.
A blindfolded fool you have made me.

worth a word.
Sarah s Apr 2020
The days I m wordless
know its inexplainable

The days I m tearless
Know its unbearable

The days I’m folding over with joy
Laughing with tears in my eyes
Know I’ve forgotten the pain

The days I m silent
Know I m overcome by sorrow.

Tomorrow and yesterday,
24 hours
Every second, every minute, worth a word.

H O P E
Sarah s Apr 2020
The sun sets.
the light of the day fades,
leaving only the pretty pastel shade.
Giving us hope, for the next day.

The innocence of youth
Disappears by our eyes
through the years going by…
If only to stop time
If only to cherish
If only in memory.

Timeless moments, never to be forgotten.
Sarah s Apr 2020
Just like the night is a canvas for the stars.
You are a canvas for the goodness in the world.
Dot to dot, you seek to see the best in people.
Just like the stars,
you know the secrets of the powerful
and the regrets of the powerless.

Eyes that see the best in ppl
A heart that forgives the worst
A mind that forgets the bad
And a soul that never loses faith.

Looking up, I gaze into the infinite void above me
Dark and full of wonders, limitless.
Just like the night sky you are.
dark but nevertheless
magnificent.

Silence and stillness.
Sarah s Apr 2020
Peace in silence,
and restfulness in stillness
Listen to the  whispers of the unspoken Melodys’,
Our thoughts.
Listen.
For even in silence I hear the soft melody of your breath.
Watch. For even in stillness I see the rise and fall of your every breath floating over your chest.

Peaceful and restful.
Sarah s Apr 2020
We act from anger, and spite
Then,
We clothe ourselves in our regrets
We bathe ourselves with our tears

We gamble with stability and peace
For the chance of winning
silence in our heads.

We find peace in the arms of alcohol.
And pride in the tears of others.
We surrender to music
And live in an illusion

I m giving it my all, can’t you see?
So please just set me free.

A dandelion in a field of roses, please set me free
I plea.

Windows of the soul
Sarah s Apr 2020
The soul weeps
The head laughs
The heart aches
The mouth smiles
The eyes though, unable to fake it.
Windows of the soul, they speak what the mouth cannot say, they shout what the heart can’t share, and explain what the head can’t ignore.

They reveal the secrets we bury with thousands of smiles.
But don’t be fooled, for pretending is an art, merely second nature.
Don’t listen to the words said, listen to the secrets the eyes whisper.
Don’t watch the smile on the face, watch the way we stare endlessly into emptiness.

A distorted image, that’s perfectly clear.

Look into someone’s eyes, and you shall see the truth, they dare not share.

A heartbroken lullaby.
Sarah s Apr 2020
That fresh smell of the rainy breeze,
And the sweet taste of metal.

The lamp shadows the empty bench,
Giving life to the trees silhouette.

Drenched in rain.
I wish you were here.
so that I could bury myself in your eyes
So that I could hide in your arms
and to clothe myself in your love.

I’m so lost but within your smile,
I seem to find my path.
Always back to u.

WILD SEASONS
Sarah s Apr 2020
I miss his sunshine,
that summer gaze,
that left me in a constant haze.
I love him so dearly.
now.
and always.

I want to sit and talk,
about the glimmer of the stars,
And the tiny red mars.
But he’s as far away,
As every star ray.

He reminds me of snow.
So beautiful,
But so cold.

But after all,
Every winter needs a spring.
And every fall a winter.

So let us sway with the trees,
bloom with the flowers.
And forget the senseless hours.

Let your dreams run wild
with your eyes shut,
and a heart open wide
full of pride and nothing to hide.

Seconds ticking
And minutes gone missing.
Life seems to be slipping,
And all I am doing is thinking.

Millions of words said,
a billion thoughts in my head
but still,
I hear a trillion voices that never end.

As seamless as the coastline,
My end begins where I find my shore.

As bright as the sunshine,
My happiness begins where your joy resides.

As timeless as death,
My eternity lays in my every breath.

I love as a star loves.
It doesn't steal the night,
it only unveil the beauty of its darkness.

Let us collapse within each other,
And form the brightest of nebulas.
Lighting each others galaxies,
And traveling through the darkness within.

A MERE EXISTENCE
Sarah s Apr 2020
Like a river I flow
To the ocean unknown

Like fire I burn
ashes I turn

Like silence
I speak
But unheard,
I remain

Blurred lines, through my eyes
Like tears, through years
Unclear and weighted by the fears.

My every breathe
is someones last.

It’s always,
Life and death.

Never,
Death and life.

Yet many of us live,
Neither or,
a mere existence.

THE IN-BETWEEN
Sarah s Apr 2020
I wonder if the sea ever feels like crying,
as It keeps trying and trying,
But all the sand does is keep drying.

The light washes the stars to bay,
As your words,
Take my guilt away.

I lay and sway,
Hoping that one day,
It’ll be okay.

Within the raging flames
And restless shame,
I struggle.
just the same.

If I could ask for one thing
It would be a moment.
A time where it was simple.

Not a thought,
Only a feeling.

Not a memory ,
Only the present.

I wish I could stay there.

But it seems In life we are born to die,
And in-between we figure out why.
Sarah s Mar 2020
Invincible I am, until I hear your voice
A slave to your touch, I long for my name on your lips
Every second I have with you, I want another

An untethered soul you are,
Unfettered by the foolish words, they speak.

My words are more yours than mine,
seeking to find meaning in my suffering.

A god I am, in your invisible grasp.

CONFUSED AND BRUISED
Sarah s Mar 2020
Abused and bruised.
Confused and used.
You apologize,
I believe.
And you’re so simply excused.

My inside cries,
As the rest of me dies.

I turn to the sky,
Knowing its wise,
Waiting for an answer till sunrise.

I turn to the ocean likewise,
waiting for a hint that lies,
in the way the waves harmonize.

Seamless fields
Fading Into the horizon.
So seemingly mesmerizing

I have so much inside,
But no way to pour it out.

DAWN ON THE OCEAN
Sarah s Mar 2020
Oh, when the dawn is nearing,
And the voices of the night,
Are disappearing.
And,
The stillness of the night,
disrupted by,
The seeping daylight.

If I were to die,
Would the clouds weep,
screaming in thunder.
Would the earth break,
shaking in anger.
Will the world care?
And forget laughter,
Or will it all be just another,
thereafter.

I water the seeds of sorrow,
with my tears.
Flooding the soils,
With all my fears.

Your promise daunts me…
When the dark comes creeping
And the night feels strong
When the stars can’t guide you
I will come along.

Well I don’t think I belong,
and living seems so wrong.

If only you knew,
I m still waiting for you.
I look to,
the vast blue,
Beyond me.
Such a beautiful view,
The ocean.

An Empty Park Shed
Sarah s Mar 2020
Cold sweats and shaky hands
Dented walls and fake friends.
making amends, yet
forgetting all the dead ends.

Don’t say you care,
I’ll ask you to show me where.

Oh, it has become so rare,
To find both the fair,
Or those who can spare,
Just some time.

My opinions or my *****
Either way,
no one wants it.

Kept my walls up,
and my doors closed
I've never been the type of person who shows.
That's my fault I suppose.
But,
I'm tired of being quiet.

The depth of the ocean,
Kept hostage,
full of ****** up emotion.
But like all tears,
They ripple to bay,
at the end of every day.

With the green grass
Soft against my cheek.
A piece of glass,
and I suddenly feel weak.

With shooting stars
Soaring in the night sky,
I sigh and ask myself, why.
Do I really want to die?

it's best we hold ourselves alone,
Be your own backbone.

I thanked the voice inside my head,
For all the wise words said.

I left all my dreads dead,
in that empty park shed.

And now I must only,
look ahead.

— The End —
