Within me I hold a chaotic bliss.

Forever seeking
Forever home.

Looking for an easy way out
A peaceful place.

But realizing the tranquility I seek
Can only be found within my grace.

For my chaotic bliss is a intricate balance
That harbors my soul.

A delicate contradiction
That I can’t let go.

In my mind there are many windows.

They all “promise” a meaningful view.

Showing the same reality,

But through a different mentality

Different perspectives;

A beautiful lie, A flawless denial

A difficult truth, A demanding trial.

Through my ignorance I draw their curtains.

Fearing the changes,I’ll need to commit to.

Which window do I open?

How self aware must I be?

Dear America,
I want to love you.
Pretend your faults don’t exist.

Forge a baseless pursuit of pride into existence
While I dwell in the blind comfort you assist.

But I cannot leave a silent trace
Where I dismiss my moral responsibility.

I want to believe in a place
In which color invites no hostility.

I must pursue the spark within.

One I cannot articulate
But allow to grow slowly and surely.

For the state of unrest
Is what brings change.

Dear America,
We must forge a reality
Where we reside in harmony.

There was a fish afraid of drowning,
Afraid of the water that let him live.

He lived his life trying to hold truth
To an irrational fear.

The other fish didn’t know what water was because water was all they knew.

These were the fish that were better off.
They were simple minded but held a faith,

A faith our fish struggled to see
The faith we must have of ourselves.

His doubt of the water led to
A doubt of his own abilities.

If we can not trust something bigger than us
We must trust ourselves.
