For souls are winged, eternal creatures
And should not be fettered
By mortal, time-bound flesh
Danny Hindle Dec 2024
How painful it must be
To watch them grow
And laugh
And love
To see their sadness
Feel their heartbreak
To know that you will only ever hold them
When you finally fail your purpose
Against the wrought iron gates of time

I am an Angel of Death
I signify your end
But I am still an Angel
And you crave my nearness
Knowing it will destroy you
Danny Hindle Dec 2024
Even in death
I have not been granted peace
So I will carve out my own heaven
On the rubble of dreams
And regret
Danny Hindle Dec 2024
To forever drift
Alone
To watch warm brilliance
Pass you by
Never able to touch

When the sheer magnitude
Of an endless universe
Become stifling, suffocating
And all you wish is to break free

To where?
We are contained only by our thoughts
After all
And perhaps in this place beyond
You will finally find peace
Danny Hindle Dec 2024
Last night I dreamed
That I drowned
In the tears you cried for me

When I woke
I could not wash the taste of salt
From my mouth
Danny Hindle Dec 2024
She
To me she was rain
Often gently in the background
A soothing constant
She was nurturing
Life giving
Everything she touched seemed to flower
But she could also take you by surprise
A sudden deluge
Hammering
Fierce
Droplets like fire on your face
That would have you running for shelter
But what I liked most
Was when she stormed
The unbridled passion
The tang of electricity in the air
When the wind whipped around your face
And rain tangled in your hair
She would stand with her arms outstretched
As free and as wild as the storm
