I've seen angels,
They do not have that seraphic
Glow nor those ethereal wings.
Their hearts are of the wanderers
One which is the purest of all.

I've seen these angels
with broken wings
and crooked smiles
taking shots of pain
like it's moonshine

scalding their tongues
burning their souls
I've seen them chuckle
at their ageing bruises
as blue as the night

we've held hands
bumped bleeding knuckles
like returning warriors
discovered the light
'neath each other's scars

I've seen them, those broken angels
with demon tattoos and godlike hearts.

And those demons from hell
with Satan in their hearts and honey on their tongue.
Spreading the sweet venom.

I've seen the  beauteous light in the dark,
And the dark in the blinding light.
I've seen these Angels and demons-
But now I know them.
