I can't seem to write short poems.
I'd like to, and admire all the short, succinct
And meaningful poems
But I can't cut mine short enough.
Sure I could stop here
Or here
Or maybe after a couple other words
Like here
But I feel like all my thoughts aren't out,
So I continue
Pushing through the thought that
This is getting a bit long
Faerie, what are you doing? Stop
Its too long.
Alright, just one more thought
And I'll
End
It
Here.

She took my hand and followed me
through the trees,
under the archway made of ivy
(flanked by pristinely carved hedges)
into the vast, open field
which met the ethereal red sun
on the horizon.

We sat in the fresh grass,
cool in the evening air.
All the while we stayed silent,
just admiring the untouched space.
Each blade of grass before us
swayed gently,
tantalisingly...

Time had stopped
but everything was still living.
Still moving.
As if this place were not included
in Time's perseverance.
I didn't want it to be,
it was too important to me.

It occurred to me then
that it wasn't this place
that I valued the most at all
It was this moment.

And I captured it.

Brianna Marie
if I ever considered myself a good actress
you put me to shame
your facade is undeniably more complex
weaving in and out of the lies you so horribly tell
I can't believe you even know of your own intentions
and while this is terribly blunt
there are more to these words I write
hidden meanings you would never bother to decipher
because my being is non-existant in your mind
knowing this, I'd rather be a nuisance
then at least I'd be in your brain
too bad you refuse to believe in our memories
can you even remember looking into my eyes?
it's doubtful; you're insincere
quit taking every gift for granted
your consideration is only intended for your grudges
your character shows through this play of yours
your charecter disgusts me
yet I'm attached
I'll look for the source and try to pry away
I make no promises of success
you destroy me

He loved her and she loved him
His kisses ****** out her whole past and future or tried to
He had no other appetite
She bit him she gnawed him she ******
She wanted him complete inside her
Safe and Sure forever and ever
Their little cries fluttered  into the curtains

Her eyes wanted nothing to get away
Her looks nailed down his hands his wrists his elbows
He gripped her hard so that life
Should not drag her from that moment
He wanted all future to cease
He wanted to topple with his arms round her
Or everlasting or whatever there was
Her embrace was an immense press
To print him into her bones
His smiles were the garrets of a fairy place
Where the real world would never come
Her smiles were spider bites
So he would lie still till she felt hungry
His word were occupying armies
Her laughs were an assasin's attempts
His looks were bullets daggers of revenge
Her glances were ghosts in the corner with horrible secrets
His whispers were whips and jackboots
Her kisses were lawyers steadily writing
His caresses were the last hooks of a castaway
Her love-tricks were the grinding of locks
And their deep cries crawled over the floors
Like an animal dragging a great trap
His promises were the surgeon's gag
Her promises took the top off his skull
She would get a brooch made of it
His vows  pulled out all her sinews
He showed her how to make a love-knot
At the back of her secret drawer
Their screams stuck in the wall
Their heads fell apart into sleep like the two halves
Of a lopped melon, but love is hard to stop

In their entwined  sleep they exchanged arms and legs
In their dreams their brains took each other hostage

In the morning they wore each other's face

In the darkness of the living room
the street light breaks through the blinds

He sleeps on the couch
A flannel blanket so small
every night is a decision
Shoulders?
Or feet?

I give him a fresh diaper
and light him a smoke

Tonight
before bed
he tells me a story
the only one I have ever heard from him
about the war

His best friend was named Mike
Mike got sick
Fever and blood in every cough

"I kept telling him everything was going to be okay"
He said
"but he kept asking me to leave him
Said to just send his wife a letter.
I never found any letter.
I wrote one later as if were him"

"I found him one morning
Cut his own throat"

My father's gone through five cigarettes by now

He lays down
covers his feet tonight

"When you're a burden to the people you love
it is okay to give up
That is what I am trying to tell you boy"

Just like that
he gave up

I am not saying my father was a good man
But in the end
I forgive him
for everything

I deserve a second chance
But you were a fool and rush into his hands
You said you wouldn't fall for his trap
I guess that was just crap

We both made mistakes
But come on we could have taken breaks
I have always loved you
Now look at what you're putting me through

I forgave you for everything
For breaking my trust, for lying, and for cheating
Oh I wasn't even mad
Just sad

I still want you back
Who does that?
I deserve a second chance
Come on, let me give you some romance
