Perhaps it were the words that you once labeled me with
that broke the soul in this mirror of mine.
What once reflected light now casts it away,
and all that’s left of my resemblance are the tiny shards
that crumbled off the mirror
now gazing at the after image I used to be.

She was never
a part of anything,
and cursed her soul
for that till the day
she realized
that the facade
of belonging somewhere
was unnecessary,
so she created
a world of her own.

to a home
that no longer
exists.

burned between the lips
of the cursed and wicked.

And then I understood
that the demons I tried to outrun,
have a heartbeat and
carry my name.

Drown me in your never-ending lust
where I can fill my lungs with treasure
and melt its gold into your sculpture,
forever to be mine.

I realized,
I had fallen for you
like the petals
of a cherry tree
during a melancholic storm.

In the midst of my own madness
there is your beautiful smile
making rainbows out of my sadness,
and keeping me calm for a while.

And then
I got enchanted
by the galaxies that lurk
within your eyes.
I found myself gazing
upon your nebula lips
and before I knew,
I lost myself
in the deep spaces
that dwell within your soul.

Our suffering matched and that was the beginning of our end.

It's not because she didn't bloom yet that she has lost her roots.

and embrace me
as I hum the bitterness to sleep.
For once maybe,
the quiet won’t hit us as hard.
So let us take this moment
to savor a humble peace
that too resides within us.

yet suffocated by this crowd
of inhuman masked creatures
who break themselves to stand tall.
