of inhuman masked creatures

Yet here I am,
with a mind that screams too loud
and a soul that sees through all.

in the stars
and has
ever since
been the compass
to a home
that no longer
exists.

and embrace me
as I hum the bitterness to sleep.

to savor a humble peace

and melt its gold into your sculpture,

that broke the soul in this mirror of mine.
What once reflected light now casts it away,
and all that’s left of my resemblance are the tiny shards
that crumbled off the mirror
now gazing at the after image I used to be.

I got enchanted
by the galaxies that lurk
within your eyes.
I found myself gazing
upon your nebula lips
and before I knew,

in the deep spaces
that dwell within your soul.
