I write all day.
Ryleigh Willis Sep 2024
I once knew a girl
Who loved to write
Secret stories and poems
That nobody read in sight
She wrote by herself
Alone in her room
Locked in her diary
With a heart that was gloom
The words were so deep
They came from her soul
Her pen was a key
That unlocked her control
We sat in the park
Watching the sunset fade
When she read me her verse
And showed me her shade
I wasn't surprised
I knew what to say
So I read her my lines
And said "I write all day."

Ryleigh
Ryleigh Willis Sep 2024
Ryleigh dances under silver moonlight's gaze,
With whispers of stars, she twirls in a daze.
Do you know what Ryleigh meant
When she laughed through the haze
Of dreams that escape, like sweet summer days?

“You be my light,” she calls with a spark,
“Trust the rhythm of night, find a way through the dark.”
But do you even feel the song she sings?
As shadows entwine, and the midnight bell rings.

I can't be the sun in her whispered ambitions,
Caught in the tangle of unspoken transitions.
Oh, don’t you see she’s woven from threads of a dream?
A tapestry bright, bursting at the seam.

Every night I’ll weave promises that dance on Ryleigh’s heart,
Just to witness the way that innocence can start to part.
‘Cause I know when I let her down,
We’ll paint the world in colors of an uncaring town.

She loves me like the tide loves the shore’s warm embrace,
In fleeting moments of laughter, we share our secret space.
And every time I wake, doubt trickles like rain,
Did i make a mistake?
this poem was based on "Sarah" By Alex G...but it was made for me.
