They were Mother's sons that
gathered on that day--
some were even daughters that
followed in their way.
What did those mothers think,
or feel or say as they looked on
from their homes or jobs that day?
Perhaps a few were proud to see the one
they bore and loved march for their belief.
Most probably had not been told that their child
would be seen by the world marching in the streets.
Others were more than horrified when they saw that
man who had taken over the body of the precious
baby boy they had given life and loved.
We all watched in horror as those Mother's sons
and daughters turned our hallowed halls
of justice into combat zones of fear,
And in those living rooms and offices their mothers shed
a tear for what had become of their sons and daughters.
In our Anger and our horror we want to cry out to
punish them , to make them pay for their crime and sin.
In our deeper selves in sorrow, deep down within we say
a prayer and shed a tear for their Mothers,
