cloistered wings

withdrawn

in elegant embrace

refined in lace

stately

in the dawn

elemental grace

Paper Doll
Ranger kessel Feb 2019
I think I liked it better when you
Were all paper doll and fancy cuts
In whispered distance.

Waking here in wet pillow dreams,
Silhouettes in shades of darkened moons.
Jagged scissors tearing clumsily
Across the bow, I miss the stealth
Of your wild lies.

damage kit hanging on the
Wall, unopened I will oblige
Salve and gauze.
Jagged edges will annoy

Color in my Hair
Ranger kessel Feb 2019
wake her color’s in my hair

eyelids tight against the sand

rainbows floating in the air

beams falling through my hand

wings spread, they’re not really there

lymph is dry & we withstand

speakers speaking i don’t care

she’s invited every single strand

wake up grounded in my head

jagged rainbows still ahead

softest colors like she said

tying knots in strings & in thread

we’re here but we’re not really there

headlines written & misread

static breaking silent prayer

rosaries whispered left unsaid

wake up her color’s in my hair

caught in a rainbow sequins are all red

we’re here but we’re not really there

sad voice speaking softly in my head

Solace
At once understood,,
I am finding solace
In colors
Leaking out of me.

Surface red, underneath
& in between,
Some things white.
Others blue & green
It is all so right.
Puff lips smack
In shades of mean.

Everything stands that would
Or could end just right.
In whisker of night.
Shined from beam
& whispered in fright

I am free, hallow whispers
Breathe for me,
Clouding shapes I wish
I could see.

Hope
Ranger kessel Feb 2019
wishing and hoping it was you
stitching wounds beneath twilight’s moon
nimble fingers knitting pearled hue

in the forest, mosses wet paint mystic dew
dripping green and gone too soon
backwards spinning threaded new.
wishing and hoping it was you,
mending wrinkles in evening’s gloom
pinning printed fabrics hung anew

wishing and hoping it was you
falling hair in garden bloom
petaled soft in perfumed blue

Morning
Ranger kessel Feb 2019
When your eyes tear in the morning,

light runs from you.

twists around

changing hues

When you've had warning,

when your virtue

crumbles before you

When dawn fades away,

or when they hurt you...

Your flag flies

tattered and grey

When the hatred you've kept at bay

becomes longing,teardrops ensue,

Watery stains on

portraits you drew.

When the tide calls for you

spear pierces your side

it drains from you

there is nowhere to hide

I will run to you

I will save you

steer mercy to ground

You have rescued me

I will shine for you

Unleash the Heavens,

before we are drowned.

I will run to you

we will start anew

our own island,

alone in the sound

You have rescued me

in the morning

with the love
we have found.

Lost
Ranger kessel Feb 2019
Have you ever lost someone
Tethered to blue?
Wrinkled and drowned?
Secrets of two
Tossing in sun?

Cathedrals of silence
Echo quiet in
Murmured voices of you.

Three becomes one,
Leather, sueded
hearts abound
Secrets of you,
Burning in wayward sun

I can't see it if it's true.

I love you.

Always

I am Alight
Ranger kessel Feb 2019
I can fly I can scream
I can warm water fight
I am bird liver lean
Never even, & always obscene
Dripping wax ever so mean
I am light.
I am fright
semi sweet slurred.
I am wonder and fright.
Two feet on the gas,
One half on the brake.
Soft gauges blurred
Under half moons of night
I am rigid I am sure
I am gut stabbed & sore.
Forever this king has
Demanded more.
I am reckless in night.
I am fearful in tattered
Living room jeans.
I am flattened and worn
& so belly tight.
I am sweet pearl milk
Gouged under knife
crossed wires inside
I am wanting.
I am taunting.
Winless & choked in red mountain scorn.
I am whipped
I am soft egg surprise
Torn up at dawn
Bowled & cracked & sizzled & flipped
Over just right.
I am runny. I am drizzle.
Cut red with a knife.
Splattered on toast
& otherwise ripped.
I am rimmed I am trimmed
I am bottle sea round.
Smashed against stone
Big toes & footprints ripping her ground.
I am red, I am green
Violence of shapes show who I've been.
I am shaken. I am stirred,
Soft nightmare inferred.
I am ruby not red
But definitely spiked.
There are red & there's blue,
sometimes there's white
None of them fit like pure black & white
I am fruited and dressed
Buttoned and snapped
In white carpet best.
I am lonely. I am longing.
Wearing the whitest red vest.
I am saccharine. I am blue.
Papered quiet on coffee stained hues
Clumsily flopped in quiet bed sheets
Pierced photo hums
Memories & pump chest
Devil disguises
I've already been there.
Quakes & rumbles & sorority crows.
Novels & wakes & nobody knows.
I am fine. I like wine,
& I'm way out of site
I giggle I jiggle
& i love your wiggle
Squared in my turnips tonight.
I am dubious in metal arm vests
I am wrinkled. My fries are so crinkled
They burn out my buds
My soda soft duds.
My cotton sewed beds
& bath water suds.
I am light.
Pages blue ignoring red evening lights
I don't know the pink ignoring
This flight.
Broken light screens
Or seismic wing sites.
What caused this dismay
Or lamp reading rites.
I am made of spider leg bites
And wilt water beams.

I am cold water me, and you know what that means.

Bird Sheet Surprise
Ranger kessel Feb 2019
You caught me in bird sheet surprise.

Rolling fat on tired floor.

Anxious bottles rattling door.

Living in angst with coke bottle roar.

Covered in sweat and warm
Bottle eyes.

Slow of your roll
Popping cork bottle flies.

It is comfortable here.
Ever close but not really near.

Your star is sharp
And blue hole scarred.
Ripping pink.

I need an affidavit.
A reason.
A cause.
A plum ****** apogee.
An orbit.
A costume.

A dead skull review.
Of numbness and spins.
Smeared wet across soiled napkins.

Disguise.

In this grace,
Blessings sign wicked circles
Scarred across my face

Tomorrow
Ranger kessel Feb 2019
Sometimes tomorrow’s stained with yesterday’s eyes.

The sun will still rise, its nothing new.

Wore out your sorrows, lived through the lies.

Weak are the fingertips comforting you.

Dry is the river, keeping you there.

Cracked are the wings flying to you.

Reaped all the crops, you needed to sow.

Fell from the sky, a warning flare.

Slipped in the wind, let it all go.

Standing in meadows praying for rain.

Soft is the blade twisting through you.

Tired are the wounds bringing you pain.

Sometimes tomorrow’s smeared with black.

Dry are the veins pumping through you.

Slipped through your fingers, it’s not coming back.

Sometimes tomorrow’s better left alone.

Secrets you kept, will punish you.

Left to the fate you’ve stitched and sewn.

Sometimes you wake up,it cuts through you.

Puncturing skin, it’s nothing new.

Sometimes tomorrow,will bleed for you.

Sometimes tomorrow’s stained with yesterday’s eyes.

The sun will rise, its nothing new.

Solitude
Ranger kessel Feb 2019
I imagine a satellite

orbiting in sanctity of

unrefined solitude.

sullen, random formations

A warm calculus beating

in unresolved reason.

Ponder when it will

indulge pride

& plunge

through the atmosphere,

succumbing to loose

denial of its own gravity

So Alone
Ranger kessel Feb 2019
It's all made for this ringing,
Failed traps and rigging
Oh, its summer surprise,
& soft tree winning.

& it's nothing about today,
Or quiet numb worth winning
Nothing about the words we say
Or lies worth spinning

Patch the whole.
Patch the whole.

Every once in a while
I am so gone
Backward flipped & into song.
I know I chewed the fat,
Oh so wrong.

Every once in a while
Wires bleed so strong.
Every once in a while,
When we're wrong.....

& it's not today
Or what has come,
Tributes spun out of time
& I've become......

So alone.

A thing become just mine
Failed traps and rigging
Oh, it summer surprise,
& soft tree's winning.

& it's nothing about today
Its just our way.
Nothing if the wires pulled and frayed.
It's all the same.

When the world subsides
On our own

Patch the whole
Patch the whole....

So alone.
