The Cold Season
Surely there must be a reason
That we must bear this bitter season.
The proud bowed down,
The happy did frown,
Because of this great treason.
Fate decided we need a lesson.
He took one of our best,
Distinguished from the rest,
Because there is no place here for perfection.

In each other it is comfort we seek
The strong are helping the weak.
Your absence is bringing us closer.
Your departure made us meek.

In spite of this unpleasant pain
Your ability to sketch a smile
(Even in one’s greatest trial)
Made me stop to grin a while.

The whole season it did not rain,
Until Fate’s day,
The day of realisation

He who had taken, had also given
Although it was meagre compensation

Someone Else
16-02-22

Look into your heart
Only you know what it tells
The more time spent together
Driven into the arms of someone else

Intentions, that are not easy to see
By no fault of yours
Learning now that 1 plus 1 is in fact 3

Recalling the distant spark, the beginning
Compared to what it's turned out to be
The road to be taken
Remains to be seen

Reflection remains or whatever it allows
Replaced by regret of the heres and the nows

Whatever was taken or given or kept
Can surely be prevented
By failing to neglect

— The End —
