One with you.
Tshepego Sep 2021
I am, you are, we are.
We were one, just like how water sits well in a glass and people stared at us in awe
They said to us nothing lasts forever like monogamy and that we should be ware
We made a promise to each that if one isn’t feeling/doing well we’ll be there!
What we had was short but nevertheless it was still rare
You said you care, funny enough I thought you did but still, experience taught me to grow a pair!
You’d sit on that chair, I’d admire you all day long and thanked God letting us be a pair!

We were one, a pair that broke up but I just wanna say I still care!

Sleeveless shirt on my wet back caused by the intense heat the sun is breathing out
Cutting corners on my bike riding, smiling and waving to the hommies smoking dubies
Dry mouth no vibe lip licking until until until until
Sadness all around the playground as I see kids building sand castles with no hustle
Skin too dark to tan might turn and burn
Rain the only option to cleanse my soul like a deep bore hole that’s been virginized of water from birth.

Black
Tshepego Jun 2020
Black is not whack
Black is back
Black collects that chèque
Black been waking up in the morning to secure that bag
Black been breaking their back for the struggle since black was known to be whack
Black been known to resist when police tried stepping on his neck
Black been known to pull thru after being stabbed in the back.
Black has been known to never settle for less
Black has been made to seem like it’s the worst
Black should not be put to the test
Because black will pass that test and overcome the rest.
Black lives matter, not because their better but because equality is clever.
