Sing with the fire
as it burns through
daylight

Dance with the sun
as it drowns in the night

By this time in the
yesterday you’ll know
the way the wind moves
and how the pale stars echo
far past the skyline

Listen close to the storm
as my sadness falls
Sounding off in order
one by one

My madness floats
in like a breeze on a
frozen day as
your love leaves
my soul like it
did again the other day
only to creep back in
like a stealthy thief that
lost his crown to a beggar
on the street

A panic realized
a shivering chill
racing up my soul
feeling the emptiness

Awake in the dark
as I walk among the dead

Chaos surrounds me
as my thoughts drip
into a graveyard of liquid
metal and bones

I am blind
as the drops fall down
you thought you saw me once
you said
In someone else’s eyes

I can see
as the drops fall down
a door opening inside of them
shimmering yet in cold silence
leading to a room
I am alone
as the drops fall down
inside of them is our old room

Scratching on the floor
listening as you speak
a tempered metal
missing it’s link
to a time that was
once before
yet now is gone
and can sing no more

So we’ll fly out
of this blue rain
and let the sun’s shade
warm us once again.
