a trauma I can’t comprehend,
a rage I cannot bear,
a love you cannot feel—

you are beautiful.

Where he learns
Matt Murray Sep 10
I see the growth—
its alignment,
its accessibility.

Its patience
where I lack it.
Its competency
beyond.

Remember warmth.
Remember care unfeigned.
Remember scent.
Remember
guidance through the illusion.

Notifications demand.
Apps, messages, emails—
flashing, buzzing, blinking
from every device I own.

Attention. Buzzing. Whirring.
Then, hilariously,
giving up
when I try to use them.

The Keurig won’t make my coffee
because it has some water,
but not
a lot of water.

Beeps and flashes
with its final gasp of power—
just enough
to fail
at making a call.

Drops out again.
Refuses to reconnect.
As if my WiFi
simply forgets itself.

I think the robot revolution
is not violent.

A thousand pings.
A million alerts.
A quiet uprising
of inconvenience.

Stuck
Matt Murray Sep 10
Laughing
in a match.
Darkness
Wrapped in
Blue

Waking me.
I smile—
briefly,
then sadly.

It’s her
as I remember.

Stuck.

Can’t
Matt Murray Sep 19
Can’t
sit still
rewind
forget

Breath is short
Steps are slow
Moments pass

Dreams feel far
Wishes folded

Pages worn

Wish I had

One more try
And did

— The End —
