At age four we were discovering magic
near a well-known castle
all through the night Hey , our hands were linked
as if we were shackled.

As a book fell from the balcony onto the church floor,
our language became the ringing sounds of laughter forevermore.

Growing up on apple juice, goldfish, and VeggieTales,
our young selves knew even then that our bond would never grow stale.

Swinging in the dark and pretending we could fly
And running down hills while chasing fireflies.

Any time spent being with you as my best friend
becomes a memory that will be forever cherished.

I understand now that meeting you was kismet
Just as fate heralds the evening sun to set.

We begin our last year of childhood,
ecstatic for the future that lies ahead in womanhood.

You and I have been there through it all
evermore growing forever enthralled.

My dear best friend
My love for you will never end.

Years fly away in a haze
your mind drifts and wanders
detailing the days.
Thoughts so crowded in your mind
You can hardly breathe.
Dreaming of a simpler time
letting moments pass you by.
how do you stop the world in its tracks
stop it from moving
from drifting
how do you stop from being sad
stop your tiring
your worry
You long for life to open its doors
and welcome you in.
Yet you've been inside all along.

Summer is pretending to fly by waving out the window as you drive.
It’s a feeling of peace as you look into the twinkling night sky.
Sleepy conversations till 3 am about life that’s barely been lived.
Finding yourself and who you want to be while managing to live with reckless abandon.
Sunsets by the sea and old talks of you and me.
Running through the woods and dancing in the moonlight.
Summer reveals the beauty of what it truly means to be young and free.
