You reek of cigarettes, whiskey,
and regret.
You try to drink away
the feelings,
the thoughts.
But no matter what you do
the feeling you could've done
something different
lingers in your head.

Why did you wait?
Why did you run?
Why were you scared?

Now you lay there
half alive
seeking your answers
from the bottom of
the bottle.

You send my brain spiraling into a fog of confusion.
I try to reach out to you for clarity,
And it's like
you don't even care.

What do you expect me to do?

All that I feel,
it is so unexplainable.

But somehow you don't even
try to understand.

What do you expect me to do?

You won't listen.
My words pass you
like the wind
on a cold winter's day.

You know it's there,
and it stings,
but you choose to ignore it.

How dare you be so vain that you don’t even acknowledge the beauty that surrounds you.

The world has so much beauty to offer you, it’s child, yet you are stuck in the mirrors reflection.

*One day you will wake up and and realize that the sweet smell of roses
have rotted the same as your soul.

Just a simple look in my direction.
The slightest smile you give me.
Feeling the touch of your worn hand.
The warmth of you lips on mine.

The tone in which you speak to me.
And the words that you say to me.
How when we lay together,
Our bodies seem to melt into one.

They say that finding true love is hard;
But they say finding your soulmate is harder.
You wonder if it’s coincidence that our paths crossed,
Or if it was fate that our hearts seem to become locked together.

Whatever the case may be,
It doesn’t matter.

You are here.
And you embrace everything.
My flesh. My soul. My thoughts.
You have it all.
