You are a ladybird,
A cherry blossom's petals beneath Spring's blue sky.

You are the town I grew up in,
& all that leaves it empty.

You're gone,
& I'll love you 'til I am too.
For my dad; you are loved, thought of & missed every day that I live & breathe.

Unsaid

I am only lost & somewhere inbetween,
A little outside of existence I pray that some divine hand might reach down from the darkness & tell me of where it is that I am meant to be.
I am unready of what’s to come & yet I wonder;
Is there an inevitable?
Might we only exist alongside another for a brief moment before the path should split?
Is hope enough to bind or would the seams split despite it?
I am merely myself & I do not know.

Halflight
Leah K Aug 2017
The descending sun,
A tranquil withdrawal -
An end,
Yet also a beginning.

A delicate watercolour on canvas of sky,
So lovingly crafted.

Soft dusk reveals tiny opals of constellations,
The moon smiles a spectral lustre.

Yet only almost-content;
Your absence leaves me hollow.
I have re-written this many times 😅
