are about to burst
with a satisfying thirst for life
I drink in the colors
that this world pours out
and smile for a moment
no doubt

Birds singing in trees
and a squirrel who waits for me
to feed it peanuts

Mirror images
war's a synonym of hate
often deflected

A deer at a stream
leaning in to take a sip
then leaping away
