The end is getting nearer,

The light is getting sparse.

The darkness turns men evil,

And corrupts their mortal hearts.

The end is soon upon us,

The light is all but gone.

The suffering turned me evil,

My heart is scarce and drawn.

The end will come to take us,

      To feed on our despair.

The light will then desert us,

    As darkness stills the air.

I tell you now, abandon hope,

And do not deign to fight

For nothing in our worldly scope

Could ever bring back the light.
I know this is terrible, but you all have terrible taste, and see depth where there is non just to look edgy. A more hopeful poem will come next, set in the same dismal world.
